Building What? How SCADs Can Be Hidden in Plain Sight

May 28, 2010 "Information Clearing House" -- At 5:21 PM on 9/11, Building 7 of the World Trade Center collapsed, even though it had not been hit by a plane – a fact that is important because of the widespread acceptance of the idea, in spite of its scientific absurdity, that the Twin Towers collapsed because of the combined effect of the impact of the airliners plus the ensuing jet-fuel-fed fires. The collapse of World Trade Center 7 (WTC 7) thereby challenges the official account of the destruction of the World Trade Center, according to which it was accomplished by al-Qaeda hijackers, even if one accepts the government’s scientifically impossible account of the Twin Towers. This fact was recently emphasized in the title of a review article based on my 2009 book, The Mysterious Collapse of World Trade Center 7,1 by National Medal of Science-winner Lynn Margulis: “Two Hit, Three Down – The Biggest Lie.”2

1. Why the Collapse of WTC 7 Created an Extraordinary Problem

The collapse of WTC 7 created an extraordinary problem for the official account of 9/11 for several reasons.

An Unprecedented Occurrence

One reason is that, because of the collapse of WTC 7, the official account of 9/11 includes the dubious claim that, for the first time in the known universe, a steel-frame high-rise building was brought down by fire, and science looks askance at claims of unprecedented occurrences regarding physical phenomena. New York Times writer James Glanz, who himself has a Ph.D. in physics, wrote: “[E]xperts said no building like it, a modern, steel-reinforced high-rise, had ever collapsed because of an uncontrolled fire.” Glanz then quoted a structural engineer as saying: “[W]ithin the structural engineering community, [WTC 7] is considered to be much more important to understand [than the Twin Towers],” because engineers had no answer to the question, “why did 7 come down?”3

Visual Evidence of Implosion

Equally remarkable, besides the mere fact that this building came down, was the way it collapsed: straight down, in virtual free fall, making the destruction of this building appear to be an example of the type of controlled demolition known as “implosion,” in which explosives and/or incendiaries are used to slice the building’s steel support columns in such a way as to cause the building to collapse into its own footprint. CBS anchor Dan Rather, not one to let a remarkable fact go unremarked, said:

“[I]t’s reminiscent of those pictures we’ve all seen . . . on television . . . , where a building was deliberately destroyed by well-placed dynamite to knock it down.”4
Dan Rather, moreover, was not the only reporter to make such a comment. Al Jones, a reporter for WINS NYC News Radio, said: “I turned in time to see what looked like a skyscraper implosion – looked like it had been done by a demolition crew.”5

Moreover, whereas Jones and Rather, being laymen in these matters, merely said that the collapse of Building 7 looked like a controlled demolition, experts, upon seeing the video, could tell immediately that it actually was a controlled demolition. In 2006, for example, a Dutch filmmaker asked Danny Jowenko, the owner of a controlled demolition company in the Netherlands, to comment on a video of the collapse of WTC 7, without telling him what it was. (Jowenko had been unaware that a third building had collapsed on 9/11.) After viewing the video, Jowenko said: “They simply blew up columns, and the rest caved in afterwards. . . . This is controlled demolition.” When asked if he was certain, he replied: “Absolutely, it’s been imploded. This was a hired job. A team of experts did this.”6

Testimonies about Explosions

Besides the obviousness from the very appearance of the collapse of Building 7 that it was a product of controlled demotion, there were testimonies about explosions in this building.

One of these was provided by Michael Hess, New York City’s corporation counsel and a close friend of Mayor Rudy Giuliani. While on his way back to City Hall, Hess was stopped for an interview at 11:57 that morning, during which he said:

“I was up in the emergency management center on the twenty-third floor [of WTC 7], and when all the power went out in the building, another gentleman and I walked down to the eighth floor [sic] where there was an explosion and we were trapped on the eighth floor with smoke, thick smoke, all around us, for about an hour and a half. But the New York Fire Department . . . just came and got us out.”7

Hess thereby reported a mid-morning explosion in WTC 7.

The other gentleman, Barry Jennings of the New York City Housing Authority, reported the same thing during another on-the-street interview, reporting that he and “Mr. Hess” had been walking down the stairs when they became trapped by a “big explosion.”8 Jennings, in fact, said that explosions continued going off while they were waiting to be rescued.9

There were also reports of explosions in the late afternoon, just as WTC 7 started coming down. Reporter Peter Demarco of the New York Daily News said:

“[T]here was a rumble. The building's top row of windows popped out. Then all the windows on the thirty-ninth floor popped out. Then the thirty-eighth floor. Pop! Pop! Pop! was all you heard until the building sunk into a rising cloud of gray.”10
NYPD officer Craig Bartmer gave the following report:

“I was real close to Building 7 when it fell down. . . . That didn't sound like just a building falling down to me . . . . There's a lot of eyewitness testimony down there of hearing explosions. . . . [A]ll of a sudden. . . I looked up, and . . . [t]he thing started pealing in on itself. . . . I started running . . . and the whole time you're hearing ‘boom, boom, boom, boom, boom.’”11

A New York University medical student, who had been serving as an emergency medical worker that day, gave this report:

“[W]e heard this sound that sounded like a clap of thunder. . . . [T]urned around – we were shocked. . . . [I]t looked like there was a shockwave ripping through the building and the windows all busted out. . . . [A]bout a second later the bottom floor caved out and the building followed after that.”12

Physical Evidence

In addition to the visual and testimonial evidence, there was clear physical evidence that explosives and incendiaries were used to bring down WTC 7.

Swiss-Cheese Steel: Within a few months of 9/11, three professors from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) had issued a report about a piece of steel from Building 7 that was described in a New York Times story by James Glanz and Eric Lipton as “[p]erhaps the deepest mystery uncovered in the investigation.”13 Part of the mystery was the fact that the steel was “extremely thin,” indicating that the steel had “melted away,” even though “no fire in any of the buildings was believed to be hot enough to melt steel outright.” Another part of the mystery was that atoms in the steel seemed to have combined with sulfur “to form compounds that melt at lower temperatures,” but as to the source of the sulfur, “no one knows.”14

Describing this mysterious piece of steel more fully, an article entitled “The ‘Deep Mystery’ of Melted Steel” in WPI’s magazine, said:

“[S]teel – which has a melting point of 2,800 degrees Fahrenheit – may weaken and bend, but does not melt during an ordinary office fire. Yet metallurgical studies . . . reveal that . . . a eutectic reaction . . . caus[ed] intergranular melting capable of turning a solid steel girder into Swiss cheese . . .. A one-inch column has been reduced to half-inch thickness. Its edges – which are curled like a paper scroll – have been thinned to almost razor sharpness. Gaping holes – some larger than a silver dollar – let light shine through a formerly solid steel flange. This Swiss cheese appearance shocked all of the fire-wise professors, who expected to see distortion and bending – but not holes. A eutectic compound is a mixture [involving sulfur]. . . . ‘The important questions," says [one of the professors], ‘are how much sulfur do you need, and where did it come from?’”15

The thinning and the holes even suggested that the steel had vaporized. Explaining as early as November 2001 why fire could not account for this mysterious steel, Glanz paraphrased one of the three WPI professors, Jonathan Barnett, as saying that it “appear[ed] to have been partly evaporated in extraordinarily high temperatures.”16

Another New York Times story reported that the same phenomenon was described by Professor Abolhassan Astaneh-Asl of the University of California at Berkeley, who had received a National Science Foundation grant to spend two weeks at Ground Zero studying steel from the buildings. According to reporter Kenneth Change, Professor Astaneh-Asl, speaking of a horizontal I-beam from WTC 7, said: “Parts of the flat top of the I, once five-eighths of an inch thick, had vaporized.”17

These reports clearly showed that something other than fire had been making things happen in the buildings, because the fires could not possibly have been higher than 1800 degrees Fahrenheit, while the boiling point of steel is roughly the same as that of iron, which is 5182°F. But even if the steel had not evaporated but had simply melted, that by itself would have proved the point, because the melting point of steel is only a little less than that of iron, which is 2800°F. (An obvious source of both the melting and the sulfidation would be a well-known incendiary, thermate – a “mixture of thermite and sulfur . . . which lowers the melting point of iron it contacts when reacting by forming a eutectic system,” which is “useful in cutting through steel.”)18

Evidence in Plain Sight

Therefore, clear evidence against the official account of Building 7, according to which it was brought down by fire, existed in plain sight in the form of videos of its collapse, published testimonies about explosions in the building, and physical evidence reported in the New York Times. The reasonable inference to draw from this evidence – namely, that the official account is false – was reinforced by the first official report on this building’s collapse, which was issued in 2002 by FEMA. Besides including as an appendix the paper by the WPI professors containing the study of the Swiss-cheese piece of steel recovered from WTC 7 – a study that attributed the erosion to “oxidation and sulfidation” while adding: “No clear explanation for the source of the sulfur has been identified”19 – the engineers who wrote the FEMA report admitted that their “best hypothesis” about why WTC 7 collapsed had “only a low probability of occurrence.”20

Failure to Become Well Known

In addition to all these facts, WTC 7 was a very big building, being 47 stories high and having a base about the size of a football field. Although it was dwarfed by the 110-story Twin Towers, it would have been the tallest building in half of the states in the nation. For all of these reasons, the collapse of this building should have become one of the best-known facts about 9/11. But it did not.

2. Widespread Ignorance about WTC 7

A Zogby poll in May 2006 found that 43 percent of the American people were unaware that WTC 7 had collapsed,21 and that same year, as mentioned earlier, Danny Jowenko of the Netherlands still did not know about it, even though controlled demolition was his field.

A dramatic example of the fact that this building’s collapse has not been prominent in the public consciousness was provided in a New York City courtroom in September 2009. Judge Edward Lehner was hearing arguments about a petition sponsored by NYC CAN to allow residents to vote on whether New York City should have its own investigation of the World Trade Center attacks. After Judge Lehner had observed that the 9/11 Commission had carried out an investigation and issued a report, Dennis McMahon, a lawyer for NYC CAN, said that this report left many unanswered questions. “One of the biggest questions,” he added, “is why did Building 7 come down” – at which point Judge Lehner asked: “Building what?” McMahon replied: “World Trade Center Seven. There were three buildings that came down.” When the judge, continuing to illustrate his ignorance about this building, asked if it was owned by the Port Authority, McMahon replied that it was owned by Larry Silverstein.22

Judge Lehner, it should be emphasized, was not simply an ordinary American citizen. Besides being a judge presiding in New York City, he had been assigned to a case involving the 9/11 attacks in this city. So his ignorance about this building was surprising. And yet it was typical. With his query - “Building what?” – he expressed the ignorance manifested in 2006 by controlled demolition expert Danny Jowenko and almost half of the American people. How can we account for this ignorance?

Abnormal Circumstances

In a New York Times story in November 2001, James Glanz wrote that the collapse of WTC 7 was “a mystery that under normal circumstances would probably have captured the attention of the city and the world.”23 Clearly these were not normal circumstances.

Part of the abnormality was the fact that Building 7, while huge, was overshadowed by the Twin Towers, which were over twice as tall. This fact by itself, however, would not account for the enormous ignorance of this third building’s collapse. Knowledgeable people had said right away, as Glanz pointed out, that there was a sense in which the collapse of Building 7 should have been the bigger story. Why was it not?

Deliberate Suppression

The answer seems to be that it was a deliberately suppressed story. This conclusion is supported by the following facts:

First, after 9/11 itself, our television networks played videos of the Twin Towers being hit by planes, then coming down, over and over, but the collapse of Building 7 was seldom if ever shown.

Second, when The 9/11 Commission Report was issued in 2004, it did not even mention that Building 7 came down.

Third, after NIST – the National Institute of Standards and Technology – took over from FEMA the task of explaining the destruction of the World Trade Center, it repeatedly delayed its report on WTC 7. In 2003, NIST said that this report would be issued along with its report on the Twin Towers, the draft of which was to appear in September 2004.24 However, even though NIST’s report on the Twin Towers did not actually appear until 2005, the promised report on WTC 7 was not included: NIST said that it would appear in 2006. But when August of 2006 came, NIST said: “It is anticipated that a draft report [on WTC 7] will be released by early 2007.”25 But it was not released in 2007 – either early or late. Instead, NIST in December 2007 “projected” that it would release draft reports on July 8, 2008, followed by final reports on August 8, 2008.26 Instead, the draft report did not appear until August, and the final report not until November of that year – when the Bush-Cheney administration was about to leave office.

Moreover, when in 2008 NIST was accused of having deliberately delayed its report on WTC 7 (which the 9/11 Truth Movement had long considered the “Achilles Heel” or “Smoking Gun” of the official account of 9/1127), NIST lied, saying that it had worked on this report only since 2005 and hence for only three years – the same length of time it had worked on its Twin Towers report. Actually, however, NIST had filed progress reports on WTC 7 in December 2002 and May 2003;28 in June 2004, it published an Interim Report on WTC 7;29 and in April 2005, NIST released another preliminary report on WTC 7.30 Then, after ceasing work on this building until after the report on the Twin Towers was issued in October 2005, NIST reported, “the investigation of the WTC 7 collapse resumed.”31 In truth, therefore, NIST had worked on its report on WTC 7 for almost six years, not merely three. So there was good reason to suspect that this report had been deliberately delayed for as long as possible.

3. NIST’s Draft for Public Comment: Mystery Solved?

Be that as it may, when the Draft for Public Comment did finally appear in August 2008, it was announced at a press conference with much bravado. Shyam Sunder, NIST’s lead investigator for its World Trade Center projects, said:

“Our take-home message today is that the reason for the collapse of World Trade Center 7 is no longer a mystery. WTC 7 collapsed because of fires fueled by office furnishings. It did not collapse from explosives.”32

The mainstream media for the most part simply repeated Sunder’s claims. For example, an Associated Press story entitled “Report: Fire, Not Bombs, Leveled WTC 7 Building,” began by saying: “Federal investigators said Thursday they have solved a mystery of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks: the collapse of World Trade Center building 7, a source of long-running conspiracy theories.” Then, after reinforcing this message by quoting Sunder’s assurance that “the reason for the collapse of World Trade Center 7 is no longer a mystery,” this story concluded by quoting his claim that the science behind NIST’s findings is "incredibly conclusive," so that “[t]he public should really recognize that science is really behind what we have said.”33

Reporters, however, could easily have discovered that this was not so. They could have seen, in fact, that NIST’s WTC 7 report repeatedly committed scientific fraud in the technical sense, as defined by the National Science Foundation.

4. NIST's Falsification of Evidence

One type of fraud is falsification, which includes “omitting data.”34 While claiming that it “found no evidence of a . . . controlled demolition event,”35 NIST simply omitted an enormous amount of evidencefor that conclusion.

Omitting Testimonial Evidence

NIST failed, for one thing, to mention any of the testimonial evidence for explosions. Besides claiming that the event described as a mid-morning explosion by Michael Hess and Barry Jennings was simply the impact of debris from the collapse of the North Tower – which occurred at 10:28 and hence about an hour later than the explosion they had described – NIST failed to mention any of the reports of explosions just as the building started to come down.

Omitting Physical Evidence:

NIST’s report on this building also omitted various types of physical evidence.

The Swiss-Cheese Steel: One of these was the piece of Swiss-cheese steel reported by the three WPI professors in a paper that was, as mentioned earlier, included as an appendix to the 2002 FEMA report. After describing the erosion of this piece of steel, the professors had said: “A detailed study into the mechanisms of this phenomenon is needed.”36 When NIST took over from FEMA the responsibility of issuing the official reports on the World Trade Center, NIST’s director promised that its reports would address “all major recommendations contained in the [FEMA] report.”37 However, when NIST’s report on Building 7 appeared in 2008, it did not even mention this mysterious piece of steel, let alone explain how it had been produced. NIST even claimed that no recovered steel from WTC 7 had been identified, because the steel used in this building, unlike the steel used in the Twin Towers, “did not contain . . . identifying characteristics.”38

NIST made this claim, incidentally, even though it had previously published a document in which it had referred to steel recovered from WTC 7, including the piece discussed by the WPI professors in the appendix to the FEMA report. This claim about not identifying any steel was made by NIST (in August 2008), moreover, even though one of these professors, Dr. Jonathan Barnett, had during a BBC program on WTC 7 (in July 2008) discussed an “eroded and deformed” piece of steel that he and his colleagues had studied in 2001, explaining that they knew “its pedigree” because “this particular kind of steel” had been used only in WTC 7, not in the Twin Towers.39

Melted Iron: Deutsche Bank, which had a building close to the World Trade Center that had been contaminated with dust, hired the RJ Lee Group, a scientific research organization, to prove to its insurance company that the dust contaminating its building was not ordinary building dust, as its insurance company claimed, but had resulted from the destruction of the World Trade Center. Reports issued by the RJ Lee Group in 2003 and 2004 proved that the dust was indeed WTC dust, having its unique chemical signature. Part of this signature, the RJ Lee Group said in its final (2004) report, was “[s]pherical iron . . . particles,” and this meant, it had pointed out in its 2003 report, that iron had “melted during the WTC Event, producing spherical metallic particles.”40

The RJ Lee reports thereby provided additional evidence that temperatures had been reached that significantly exceeded those that could have been produced by fire. These reports, which were made known in an article published in January 2008 by a group of scientists led by physicist Steven Jones,41 were simply ignored by NIST.

Melted Molybdenum: Another study was carried out by scientists at the US Geological Survey. Besides also finding the spherical iron particles, these scientists found that something had melted molybdenum42 – which has an extremely high melting point: 4,753°F (2,623°C).43 Although these USGS scientists failed to mention this discovery in the published version of their report, a group of scientists led by Steven Jones, having obtained the USGS team’s data through a FOIA request, reported evidence that this team had devoted serious study to “a molybdenum-rich spherule.”44 NIST, however, failed to mention this discovery by the US Geological Survey, although it is another federal agency.

Nanothermite: A peer-reviewed report by University of Copenhagen chemist Niels Harrit and several co-authors, including physicist Steven Jones and chemist Kevin Ryan, showed that the WTC dust contained unreacted nanothermite. Unlike ordinary thermite, which is an incendiary, nanothermite is a high explosive.

This report by Harrit, Jones, Ryan, and their colleagues did not appear until 2009,45 so it could not have been mentioned in NIST’s final report, which came out at the end of November 2008. However, given the standard guidelines for the investigation of building fires, NIST should have tested the WTC dust for signs of incendiaries, such as ordinary thermite (including thermate), and explosives, such as nanothermite.46

When asked whether it had carried out such tests, NIST said it had not.47 When a reporter asked NIST spokesman Michael Newman why not, he replied: “[B]ecause there was no evidence of that.” When the reporter asked the obvious follow-up question, “[H]ow can you know there’s no evidence if you don’t look for it first?” Newman replied: “If you’re looking for something that isn’t there, you’re wasting your time . . . and the taxpayers’ money.”48

5. NIST’s Fabrication of Evidence

Besides omitting and otherwise falsifying evidence, NIST also committed the type of scientific fraud called fabrication, which means simply “making up results.”49

No Girder Shear Studs

For example, in offering its explanation as to how fire caused Building 7 to collapse, NIST said that the culprit was thermal expansion, meaning that the fire heated up the steel, thereby causing it to expand. Expanding steel beams on the 13th floor, NIST claims, caused a steel girder connecting columns 44 and 79 to break loose. Having lost its support, column 79 failed, starting a chain reaction in which all the other columns failed.50

Leaving aside the question of whether this is even remotely possible, let us simply ask: Why did that girder fail? NIST’s answer was that it was not connected to the floor slab with sheer studs. NIST wrote: “In WTC 7, no studs were installed on the girders.”51 In another passage, NIST said: “Floor beams . . . had shear studs, but the girders that supported the floor beams did not have shear studs.”52

However, NIST’s Interim Report on WTC 7, which it published in 2004 before it had developed its girder-failure theory, said shear studs were used to anchor “[m]ost of the beams and girders,” including the girder in question.53

A Raging 12th Floor Fire at 5:00

Although in its 2004 Interim Report on WTC 7, NIST said that by 4:45 PM, “the fire on Floor 12 was burned out,”54 it claimed in its 2008 report that at 5:00, just 21 minutes before the building collapsed, the fire on this floor was still going strong.55

6. NIST’s Final Report: Affirming a Miracle

NIST’s final report on WTC 7, which appeared in November 2008, was for the most part identical with its draft report, which had appeared in August. But NIST did add a new element: the affirmation of a miracle, meaning a violation of a fundamental law of physics.

This issue is treated in a cartoon in which a professor has written a proof on a chalkboard. Most of the steps consist of mathematical equations, but one of them simply says: “Then a miracle happens.”56 This is humorous because one thing scientists absolutely cannot do in their scientific work is appeal to miracles, even implicitly. And yet that is what NIST does. I will explain.

NIST’s August 2008 Denial of Free Fall

Members of the 9/11 Truth Movement had long been pointing out that Building 7 came down at the same rate as a free-falling object, or at least virtually so. But in NIST’s Draft for Public Comment, issued in August 2008, it denied this, saying that the time it took for the upper floors – the only floors that are visible on the videos - to come down “was approximately 40 percent longer than the computed free fall time and was consistent with physical principles.”57

As this statement implies, any assertion that the building did come down in free fall would not be consistent with physical principles – meaning the laws of physics. Explaining why not, during a “WTC 7 Technical Briefing” on August 26, 2008, Shyam Sunder said:

“[A] free fall time would be [the fall time of] an object that has no structural components below it. . . . [T]he . . . time that it took . . . for those 17 floors to disappear [was roughly 40 percent longer than free fall]. And that is not at all unusual, because there was structural resistance that was provided in this particular case. And you had a sequence of structural failures that had to take place. Everything was not instantaneous.”58

In saying this, Sunder was, of course, presupposing NIST’s rejection of controlled demolition – which could have produced a free-fall collapse by causing all 82 columns to fail simultaneously – in favor of NIST’s fire theory, which necessitated a theory of progressive collapse.

Chandler’s Challenge and NIST’s November Admission of Free Fall

In response, high-school physics teacher David Chandler, who was able to speak at this briefing, challenged Sunder’s denial of free fall, stating that Sunder’s “40 percent” claim contradicted “a publicly visible, easily measurable quantity.”59 Chandler then placed a video on the Internet showing that, by measuring this publicly visible quantity, anyone knowing elementary physics could see that “for about two and a half seconds. . . , the acceleration of the building is indistinguishable from freefall.”60

Amazingly, in NIST’s final report, which came out in November 2008, it admitted free fall. Dividing the building’s descent into three stages, NIST described the second phase as “a freefall descent over approximately eight stories at gravitational acceleration for approximately 2.25 s[econds].”61 So, after presenting over 600 pages of descriptions, photographs, testimonies, graphs, analyses, explanations, and mathematical formulae, NIST says, in effect: “Then a miracle happens.”

Why this would be a miracle was explained by Chandler, who said: “Free fall can only be achieved if there is zero resistance to the motion.”62 In other words, the upper portion of Building 7 could have come down in free fall only if something had suddenly removed all the steel and concrete in the lower part of the building, which would have otherwise provided resistance. If everything had not been removed and the upper floors had come down in free fall anyway, even for only a second, a miracle – meaning a violation of laws of physics - would have happened.

That was what Sunder himself had explained the previous August, saying that a free-falling object would be one “that has no structural components below it” to offer resistance. But then in November, while still defending its fire theory of collapse, NIST agreed that, as an empirical fact, free fall happened. For a period of 2.25 seconds, NIST admitted, the descent of WTC 7 was characterized by “gravitational acceleration (free fall).”63

Knowing that it had thereby affirmed a miracle, NIST no longer claimed that its analysis was consistent with the laws of physics. In its August draft, in which it said that the collapse occurred 40 percent slower than free fall, NIST had repeatedly said that its analysis was “consistent with physical principles.” One encountered this phrase at least three times.64 In the final report, however, every instance of this phrase had been removed. NIST thereby almost explicitly admitted that its report on WTC 7, by admitting free fall while continuing to deny that explosives and incendiaries were used, is not consistent with the principles of physics.

Implications

NIST thereby implicitly acknowledged that Building 7 was intentionally demolished. It also thereby implicitly admitted the same about the Twin Towers, because the collapses of these buildings manifested many of the same tell-tale signs of controlled demolition as did WTC 7, plus some additional ones, including the horizontal ejection of sections of steel columns, weighing many thousands of pounds, more than 500 feet from the towers. (These ejections occurred at the outset of the collapses, after which the Towers came straight down.).65

And with this implicit admission that the collapses were examples of controlled demolition, NIST undermined the al-Qaeda theory of 9/11. Why?

For one thing, the straight-down nature of the collapses of the Twin Towers and Building 7 means that the buildings were subjected to the type of controlled demolition known as “implosion,” which is, in the words of a controlled demolition website, “by far the trickiest type of explosive project,” which “only a handful of blasting companies in the world . . . possess enough experience . . . to perform.”66 Al-Qaeda terrorists would not have had this kind of expertise.

Second, the only reason to go to the trouble of bringing a building straight down is to avoid damaging nearby buildings. Had the World Trade Center buildings toppled over sideways, they would have caused massive destruction in Lower Manhattan, crushing dozens of other buildings and killing tens of thousands of people. Does anyone believe that, even if al-Qaeda operatives had had the expertise to make the buildings come straight down, they would have had the courtesy?

A third problem is that foreign terrorists could not have obtained access to the buildings for all the hours it would have taken to plant incendiaries and explosives. Only insiders could have done this.67

7. Explaining the Ignorance about WTC 7

NIST’s admission that Building 7 came down in free fall for over two seconds should, therefore, have been front-page news. The same is true, moreover, of the various other things I have reported – NIST’s fabrications; NIST’s omission and distortion of testimonial evidence; NIST’s omissions of physical evidence, such as the Swiss-cheese steel and the particles showing that iron and molybdenum had been melted; and the later discovery of nanothermite particles in the WTC dust. Especially given the fact that the collapse of Building 7 had been declared a mystery from the outset, the world should have been waiting with baited breath for every new clue as to why this 47-story building had come down. Upon hearing Building 7 mentioned, nobody in the world with access to CNN should have asked, “Building what?” How do we explain the fact that five and even nine years after the mysterious collapse of this building, ignorance about it was still widespread?

To begin answering this question, let us return to James Glanz’s statement that the collapse of WTC 7 was “a mystery that under normal circumstances would probably have captured the attention of the city and the world.”68 As I stated before, the abnormality seems to have been such that videos and even the very fact of this building’s collapse were deliberately suppressed. What was this abnormality?

SCADs

A symposium in the February 2010 issue of American Behavioral Scientist, one of our leading social science journals, argues that social scientists need to develop a scientific approach to studying an increasingly important type of criminality: State Crimes Against Democracy, abbreviated SCADs,69 understood as “concerted actions . . . by government insiders intended to manipulate democratic processes and undermine popular sovereignty.” Having the “potential to subvert political institutions and entire governments . . . [SCADs] are high crimes that attack democracy itself.”70

Distinguishing between SCADs that have been officially proven, such as “the Watergate break-ins and cover-up . . . , the secret wars in Laos and Cambodia . . . , the illegal arms sales and covert operations in Iran-Contra . . . , and the effort to discredit Joseph Wilson by revealing his wife’s status as an intelligence agent,” on the one hand, and suspected SCADs for which there is good evidence, on the other, the symposium authors include in the latter category “the fabricated attacks on U.S. ships in the Gulf of Tonkin in 1964 . . . , the “October Surprises” in the presidential elections of 1968 . . . and 1980 . . . , the assassinations of John Kennedy and Robert Kennedy . . . , the election breakdowns in 2000 and 2004 . . . , the numerous defense failures on September 11, 2001 . . . , and the misrepresentation of intelligence to justify the invasion and occupation of Iraq.”71

Besides regarding 9/11 as one of the suspected SCADs for which there is good evidence, this symposium treats it as its primary example. The abstract for the introductory essay begins by asserting: “The ellipses of due diligence riddling the official account of the 9/11 incidents continue being ignored by scholars of policy and public administration.”72 The symposium’s final essay, criticizing the majority of the academic world for its “blithe dismissal of more than one law of thermodynamics” that is violated by the official theory of the World Trade Center collapses,73 also criticizes the academy for its failure to protest when “Professor Steven Jones found himself forced out of a tenured position for merely reminding the world that physical laws, about which there is no dissent whatsoever, contradict the official theory of the World Trade Center Towers’ collapse.”74

The authors of this symposium point out, moreover, that the official theory of the destruction of the three World Trade Center towers has serious implications for science and engineering. If NIST’s explanation “provides the most robust account of the Towers’ collapse, based on known science,” then some previously accepted physical laws would need to be revised:

“[These laws] would have to succumb, at some point, to the theoretical claims purported to explain the Towers’ collapse: New laws determining when steel melts and the phases at which such material loses its tensile strength would have at some point to replace existing science-based presumptions.”75

This revision of physical laws would also have practical implications for building codes: “[T]he specifications of design for all skyscrapers ought, in the public interest, to be subjected to major review.” The acceptance of NIST’s account, therefore, creates an “obvious crisis,” which should be evoking scientific and practical responses.76

The practical crisis that should have been caused by NIST’s report on WTC 7 had previously been addressed by four of the “Jersey Girls,” who had been instrumental in getting the 9/11 Commission created. In a statement released in September 2008, they wrote:

“Over the past seven years, the Families of the 9/11 Victims have been repeatedly told by fire experts, engineers and architects that we should NOT FOCUS our efforts on advocating for building and fire code changes based on the collapse of the WTC 1 and 2 towers. We were continuously reminded that the crashing of airplanes into buildings was a unique event. Additionally, we were told that the design and construction of WTC Towers 1 and 2 was unique and that there were no other buildings of that particular height or design in the world. We were repeatedly told that the key was WTC 7 since this building was of conventional design and height, yet it too collapsed without the unique event of an airplane striking it. . . .

“Dr. Shyam Sunder of NIST . . . stated that WTC 7 met all New York City codes. Yet, WTC 7 is the first steel high-rise building of traditional construction in the United States -- and the world, to completely collapse as a result of fire. According to . . . Dr. Sunder, "there were no flaws with the construction of the building."

“We don't how the rest of the country is feeling about this news, but we are very scared! These findings suggest that ANY EXISTING building is prone to a progressive collapse if a fire should start and the sprinkler system fails for whatever reason. . . .

“The ultimate purpose of advocating for the $16 million to have NIST study this event was to determine how to make buildings safer in the future. If we are now to believe that any skyscraper is subject to total collapse from fire, why isn't NIST emphasizing the impact on EXISTING buildings? . . . NIST needs to . . . provide guidance for EXISTING buildings.

“NIST should put the most important conclusion in plain English and announce it to the entire country: UNCONTROLLED FIRES IN HIGH-RISE BUILDINGS CAN LEAD TO THEIR TOTAL COLLAPSE. . . . NIST must address this dangerous issue immediately. The future safety of the public and the fire services hangs in the balance.”77

Like the SCADs symposium, this brilliant piece of satire makes clear that NIST’s explanation of WTC 7’s collapse should have created a crisis in many fields, both theoretical and practical. The implications of NIST’s explanation should have been extensively discussed in technical journals of various types and then in newspapers and on television programs and radio talk shows. But no such discussion occurred. The worlds of physics, engineering, building codes, and public safety continued on as if the report had never been issued. How can we understand this?

Hiding the Most Obvious Evidence that 9/11 Was a SCAD

If the reason why the collapse of WTC 7 did not occur “under normal circumstances” is the fact that it was part of 9/11, which was a SCAD, then it would not be surprising that the collapse of this building, which “under normal circumstances would probably have captured the attention of the city and the world,” did not do so.

If 9/11 was a SCAD, the collapse of WTC 7 would not have been allowed to capture the world’s attention for the reasons mentioned earlier: Unlike the Twin Towers, it was not hit by a plane; because of this, there was no jet fuel to spread big fires to many floors; its collapse, unlike that of each of the Twin Towers, looked exactly like a classic implosion, in which the collapse begins from the bottom and the building folds in upon itself, ending up almost entirely in its own footprint; and the videos show that it came down, at least part of the way, in absolute free fall. The fact that Building 7 was brought down by controlled demolition was, therefore, more obvious.

This greater obviousness is illustrated not only by Danny Jowenko’s response, but also by the many engineers and scientists who joined the 9/11 Truth Movement only after seeing a video of this building’s collapse. For example, Daniel Hofnung, an engineer in Paris, wrote:

“In the years after the 9/11 events, I thought that all I read in professional reviews and French newspapers was true. The first time I understood that it was impossible was when I saw a film about the collapse of WTC 7.”78
Likewise, civil engineer Chester Gearhart wrote:

“I have watched the construction of many large buildings and also have personally witnessed 5 controlled demolitions in Kansas City. When I saw the towers fall on 9/11, I knew something was wrong and my first instinct was that it was impossible. When I saw building 7 fall, I knew it was a controlled demolition.”79
This video was also decisive for University of Copenhagen chemist Niels Harrit, who later became the first author of the nanothermite paper. When asked how he became involved with these issues, he replied:

“It all started when I saw the collapse of Building 7, the third skyscraper. It collapsed seven hours after the Twin Towers. And there were only two airplanes. When you see a 47-storey building, 186 meters tall, collapse in 6.5 seconds, and you are a scientist, you think “What?” I had to watch it again...and again. I hit the button ten times, and my jaw dropped lower and lower. Firstly, I had never heard of that building before. And there was no visible reason why it should collapse in that way, straight down, in 6.5 seconds. I have had no rest since that day.”80
Given these reactions, it is obvious why, if 9/11 was a State Crime Against Democracy, the fact of Building 7’s collapse, especially the video of this collapse, had to be suppressed as much as possible.

WTC 7 as a Dud?

Having made this point, I need to respond to an obvious objection: If those who were responsible for bringing down Building 7 were going to need to suppress the video of its collapse, why did they wait until late in the afternoon, when the air was clean and cameras would be trained on this building, with the consequence that we have perfectly clear videos of the collapse of this building from various angles, each one showing its straight-down free-fall descent? Why did they not bring it down in the morning, shortly after one of the Twin Towers had collapsed, when the resulting dust cloud would have made any images impossible? After the collapse of the North Tower at 10:28, for example, visibility did not return sufficiently for film crews to come back to the area, NIST reported, until 11:00.81 Had Building 7 been imploded at, say, 10:45, its collapse would still have been a big mystery, but there would have been no videos showing that it had come straight down and, for over two seconds, in absolute free fall.

There are many reasons, as I showed in an appendix to The Mysterious Collapse of World Trade Center 7, to believe that this had indeed been the plan, but that this building was, as one researcher put it, “a dud”82 – meaning that “the demolition system in WTC 7 simply did not respond as intended and the building defiantly remained intact.”83 As a result, agents were perhaps sent into the building to set fires to provide the basis for a cover-story saying that fires had brought the building down. This hypothesis -- that fires were set in the building only after a controlled demolition system had failed to bring it down in the morning -- would explain why, although the fires in Building 7 were supposedly started by burning debris from the North Tower’s collapse at 10:28, no flames are visible in this building, as NIST admits, until after noon, and on some floors there is no photographic evidence of fire until 3:40 PM or even later.84

I have emphasized this likelihood – that the destruction of WTC 7 was a botched operation – because if true it provides the clearest possible illustration of the theme of this essay, namely, that SCADs can be hidden in plain sight. There are literally dozens of problems in the official account of 9/11 sufficiently serious to show the official story to be false. But the clearest proof is provided by the video of this enormous building coming straight down in absolute free fall. And yet even though this proof has existed in plain sight for all these years, the fact that 9/11 was an inside job, and hence a State Crime Against Democracy, has remained a hidden fact, at least in the sense that it is not part of the public conversation. If the destruction of WTC 7 was a botched operation, then the hiding of the fact that 9/11 was a SCAD is even more impressive. How has this hiding been achieved?

Hiding SCADs: The Role of the Mainstream Media

Peter Dale Scott, discussing the erosion of the US Constitution in recent times, suggests that “this erosion has been achieved in part through a series of important deep events in [post-World-War-II] American history – events aspects of which . . . will be ignored or suppressed in the mainstream media.”85 Indeed, Scott adds:

“[T]he mainstream U.S. media . . . have become so implicated in past protective lies . . . that they, as well as the government, have now a demonstrated interest in preventing the truth about any of these events from coming out. This means that the current threat to constitutional rights does not derive from the deep state alone. . . . [T]he problem is a global dominance mindset that prevails not only inside the Washington Beltway but also in the mainstream media . . . , one which has come to accept recent inroads on constitutional liberties, and stigmatizes, or at least responds with silence to, those who are alarmed by them. . . . [A]cceptance of this mindset’s notions of decorum has increasingly become a condition for participation in mainstream public life.”86
Referring thereby to events such as the JFK assassination, the Tonkin Gulf hoax, and 9/11, Scott by “deep events” means the same types of events called SCADs by the authors of the symposium on that topic. Indeed, one of those authors explicitly cites Scott’s writings, treating his “deep events” as examples of SCADs and quoting his statements about the complicity of the mainstream media in covering up the truth about these events.87

These authors also make the same point themselves, remarking that “the U.S. government’s account of 9/11 [is] parroted by the mainstream media”88 and commenting on “the profound disavowal of still burning, molten questions originating at 9/11 Ground Zero gone begging by the American media.”89

Besides parroting the government’s account of 9/11 and stigmatizing those who provide alternative accounts with the discrediting label “conspiracy theorists,” how has America’s mainstream media kept the truth about WTC 7 hidden from the majority of the American people? Through various means, including the following:

First, by never replaying the statements by Dan Rather and other reporters about how the collapse of WTC 7 looked just like a controlled demolition.

Second, by seldom if ever replaying the video of this building’s collapse.

Third, by never mentioning credible critiques of the official account. For example, The Mysterious Collapse of World Trade Center 7: Why the Final Official Report about 9/11 is Unscientific and False, which has been endorsed by prestigious scientists and engineers, has never been reviewed in the mainstream media, even though my previous 9/11 book, The New Pearl Harbor Revisited, was a Publishers Weekly “Pick of the Week” in 2008.90

Fourth, by never mentioning, except for one story that apparently slipped through,91 the existence of an organization called Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth, which by now has some 1,200 professional architects and engineers calling for a new investigation of WTC 7 as well as the Twin Towers.92

Fifth, by never reporting scientific evidence contradicting the official account of these buildings’ destruction, such as the reported discovery of nanothermite in the WTC dust.

Sixth, by overlooking the fact that NIST’s report on WTC 7 omitted an enormous amount of evidence showing that explosives and/or incendiaries must have been used. For example, although the New York Times in 2002 called the piece of Swiss-cheese steel recovered from this building “the deepest mystery uncovered in the investigation,” it did not issue a peep when NIST’s 2008 report on this building failed to mention this piece of steel and even claimed that no steel from this building had been identified: The Times clearly knew better but said nothing.

Seventh, by not mentioning the fact, even after it was reported in my 2009 book, The Mysterious Collapse of World Trade Center 7, that NIST had used various types of fabricated evidence to support its theory of a fire-induced collapse.

Eighth, by reporting NIST’s August 2008 press briefing, in which Shyam Sunder announced, triumphantly, that the “the reason for the collapse of World Trade Center 7 is no longer a mystery” and that “science is really behind what we have said,” but then not reporting on NIST’s final report in November of that year, in which NIST almost explicitly admitted that science does not stand behind, but instead contradicts, its theory of this building’s collapse.

Ninth, by systematically ignoring the fact that the official account of WTC 7’s collapse has implications for many fields that, if taken seriously by leaders in those fields, would demand revolutionary changes in both theory and practice.93

Conclusion and Proposal

Through these and related means, the truth about the collapse of WTC 7 has been effectively hidden, even though it has existed in plain sight all these years. Even the bare fact of the collapse itself has been so effectively hidden that in 2006 over 40 percent of the American public did not know about it, and in 2009 a judge in New York City, upon hearing a reference to Building 7, asked: “Building what?”

I offer this essay as a case study in the power of the forces behind SCADs or deep events to hide things that exist in plain sight, because if they can hide the straight-down free-fall collapse of a 47-story building captured on video in broad daylight, they can hide almost anything.

I say this, however, not to instill despair, but to point to the seriousness of the problem, and also to pave the way for making a proposal. Recognizing the high correlation between those who know about the collapse of WTC 7 and those who believe that a new – or rather real – 9/11 investigation is needed, I propose that the international 9/11 Truth Movement initiate, starting this September, a world-wide, year-long “Building What?” campaign. Through this campaign, we would seek to make the fact of its collapse so widely known that the mention of Building 7 would never again evoke the question: “Building What?”94

I recently attended a holistic grazing seminar put on by Cody Holmes. He's a cattle rancher from Missouri and he's been doing it for 35 years. In the last 10 years Cody has developed a system of tall grass grazing and holistic soil management.

What's the big deal with cows eating grass, you say!? Let me explain...

Right now most livestock, cows, sheep, pigs, goats, chickens, are raised in factory farms, pumped full of grain, antibiotics, and hormones then end up on your dinner table. What's wrong with that, you ask?

Well, herd animals evolved to eat grass with a proportionately small amount of grain. In man's pursuit of bigger cows that put on weight fast he learned you can puff up a cow by feeding them corn. A cows digestive system wasn't made to eat corn, the cow builds up toxins by eating straight grain that it can't get rid of fast enough. These toxins get stored in the meat of the animal and drastically reduce it's useful life. For instance, Holstein milk cows can live 20+ years eating grass and give birth to a calf every year. On a commercial dairy farm the animal is pushed to produce as much milk as possible on a diet of straight grain and hormones, the same cow will live 3-5 years and have 1-2 calves. The sick animal is then sold to a fast food chain to make low quality poisonous burgers.

The way commercial animals live is a problem. In nature these animals roam from one grazing ground to the next. On commercial feed lots these animal live and eat in their own feces and develop parasites and disease. Instead of addressing the problem at its root, man with his superior intellect now routinely administers high doses of antibiotics to these animals. Here is where we start to learn how fixing a problem with another starts to make things interesting.

A couple things happen:

1) Antibiotics are passed on to us through the meat and when we get sick, doctor prescribed antibiotics don't have enough punch to produce the desired effect.

2) More importantly the antibiotics are passed through the animal and into it's feces where it begins to kill the biology in the soil and the little animals that make use of the manure. If you've read this far you may now be thinking who the hell cares about the bugs and bacteria in the soil!

Well, all those little critters have a job to do and they all work together in creating the environment for healthy grass to grow. Commercial feedlots are mud holes where nothing grows. The dung beetles, nematodes, bacteria, and earthworms are all vital to soil health and the health of the plants that grow in it, the animals that eat those plants, and the animals that eat the animals that eat those plants, (that's us by the way). We depend on those animals in the soil for our health.

What's cool about what Cody presented in his seminar is that when you mimic nature in your grazing practices the herd has an extremely positive impact on the soil. Grass fed cows produce fantastic fertilizer. Rotating the herd to fresh pasture everyday keeps the animals free from parasites and disease since they aren't feeding in their own mess. Healthy animals don't need antibiotics that compromise the soil biology and the grass. Cody allows the grass to rest at least 90 days before grazing it again which further mimics nature. The grass grows tall and goes to seed. The futile soil grows thick with healthy grass. The animals that eat it grow strong and healthy, so do the people that eat those animals.

Interesting fact: 100 years ago corn contained about 20% protein. Today modern genetic manipulation and hybridization has produced larger and larger quantities of corn with less and less nutritional value, today corn has about 3% protein and is mostly empty calories. Thank you Monsanto!

As we both know, you and I often disagree over political issues, too. For instance, I truly believe that George Bush is a man of great integrity, and I like Sarah Palin (though have never been a McCain fan). I wouldn’t support Palin for president, though, because I think experience is critical to doing the job well – experience and the ability to surround ones self with good advisors.

I am a conservative, politically.

We often agree, though, too. And your response to this guy was spot on – imagine actually using the Constitution and the founding fathers’ words as a defense of your beliefs? Brilliant! – and rare. Good for you.

Probably the most important thing we agree on is this: we are being divided as a people by an ideological machine, neither wing of which fully or accurately represents We the People. But because we are so faithful to those sides, we resort to name-calling and contempt, and never hear what the other fellow really has to say. Wouldn’t it be nice if we could hear a person speak without first ascertaining whether there was an R or a D after his or her name? Wouldn’t it be nice if we could disagree without calling each other silly names like Troglodyte? (Troglodyte: A hermit: one who lives alone in solitude. Huh? What does that have to do with anything?)

At any rate, even though I like Bush and Palin – and Rush Limbaugh and a few others you surely don’t – I appreciate your e-mails and your insight, and your thoughtfulness. You set an example. That we are not each other’s enemy, I completely agree!

I don't completely agree with Rush but I listen to him regularly on the radio while I work. A lot of what he says is right on, but not always. The things Sara Palin says aren't necessarily wrong but many people disregarded her a long time ago over the way she handles herself, cutting out on her term early, and the way she talks, etc... Although she has some following, she isn't going to unite the country. Many on the left disregard the Tea Party's message because Sara Palin has attempted to take ownership of it. I think we need to find a new candidate who is going to pull people in from both sides. I have a sore spot for her because she got in front of the Tea Party (the peoples party) and pushed many people away because they don't like her politically. People tend to throw out the baby with the bath water.

Anyway I'm now on the ballot for Prescient Delegate! Vote for me in August!

Hm. I agree with many of your assessments of Palin. I got a survey call recently where I was asked, "Are you a Tea Party patriot?" I answered yes. I was then asked, "Do you support Sarah Palin?" I answered, "For what?" and the survey ended. It was a recorded survey and I am sure wasn't equipped for something other than yes or no, but the truth is, I can't answer whether I support Sarah Palin without finding that out first. I don't support her for president. I support her right to a platform and I heartily approve of much of what she has to say. I suspect she was a decent governor - she had an 80% approval rating that transcended party lines. But those days ARE gone for her, admittedly. She has become very polarizing.

I will indeed vote for you.

It's not what HE THINKS is a constitutional right (or probably what some anti-Obama organization told him to think), it's what the SUPREME COURT SAYS is a constitutional right, no matter how absurd it is. Didn't these people pay attention in high school civics class? This guy is a tough case. He's right about corporations being involved in government that shouldn't be. He's quick to categorize me into his idea of the republican party for having conservative/ libertarian views. The shape of this cookie looks like NBC to me. I don't disagree with him one bit about the corporations and government being in bed together, of course that's incredibly wrong. You can't set aside the Constitution and put your faith into 9 human beings to do what's right, so few are so easily corrupted with relatively small amounts of money and effort. He must be getting this idea that the tea party is stupid because the elite put Palin in front of it to keep people like him from getting on the band wagon. Contempt before prior investigation is ignorance. It's almost like they've built a protective layer of it around this chap. I'm not mad at him, he's right about alot but like you said he hasn't seen the view through the wide angle lens yet. Both extremes have pieces of the truth but they are kept polarized.

I admit, I listen to AM radio at work. However I still only pull out the good and throw out the rest. I used to hate Rush, but some of what he says is correct. He does go to far with the pro-corporate, pro-war, pro-Zionist message but I recognize it. This guy needs to recognize Obama's the same guy. The national debt is $13,000,000,000,000 and they keep spending. They all work for the bank that prints the money. The deeper in hock we go the more interest the bank makes. I'm glad this guy is happy with taxes now, he'll be really happy when they bring in a VAT.

Maybe you should show him a video of Building 7 and ask him why more money was spent on investigating Clinton's affair with Monica Lewinsky than investigating 9/11.

PS: I think Massad did it and certain government officials in the know were in on it. Of course we'll never know unless they conduct a proper investigation.

Be specific.
Exactly what part of our constitution is being ignored? I presume that people would be protesting the recent "Activist" decision by the Bush-appointed (5-4) Supreme Court to allow corporations to be "People" ... thus thwarting campaign reform and reducing an individual's political power.
Who is being taxed without representation? Don't these people know how to register and vote? The real problem is that TOO MUCH representation is going on.... see Supreme Court decision above.
Exactly what govt. spending is out of control? Looks pretty controlled to me. There are no new banking system bailouts planned, and the Auto companies have paid back their loans. Finance industry controls are now being developed... just watch who will oppose them.
Although it should be brought back under judicial control, I'm glad we have some domestic spying capability... might be a good thing to put some US violence-inducing terrorists in Gitmo. I don't want these liars advocating the slaughter of innocent children (or me) ala psychotic McVeigh.
If people think that their rights are being violated, they should be reminded that these rights are protected by the Supreme Court and that they elected Bush, a president who put corporate interests ahead of personal freedoms, who made Supreme Court appointments true to form. What did they expect would happen? And now they are listening to those same people?

The people who do this stuff are so stupid that it has taken them eight years to find out what is happening? What is wrong with them? Short attention span? Brain-damaged memory? Sort of like a perfect storm -- when ignorance meets arrogance. The time for this was eight years ago when the Repubs initiated the largest expansion of the federal govt. in history and plunged the country into the biggest debt in history while cutting taxes on millionaires and corporations, deregulating the health care and financial systems, and killing hundreds of thousands of innocent Muslums. Then.... they blame Obama... the guy who is trying to get us out of this mess (the role of black people... cleaning up after white people?).

Losers always blame something else for their own failures.... i.e. the govt., teenage immigrant welfare mothers on drugs, and God. Americans elected Republican George W. Bush to be President of the United States TWICE!!! And now neither the Republican party nor the people want to face and admit their total fuck-up.

If they really just MUST protest something, protest against $10B/month Bush wars. Unlike this moronic "National Strike", this protest would actually help to make us a better country.

It's hard to get upset over a reply like this. This person is obviously concerned with finding the correct group to be associated with and conforming his view to fit in with the group. This fellow brought a lot of baggage to the conversation. I didn't say anything about Republicans or Democrats. This person knows nothing of me or that I voted for Obama in the last election. I was disgusted with the Bush administration and like most people recoil at the thought of Sara Palin and John McCain running the country. I really liked Ron Paul but when faced with the possibility of a publicity hound like Sara Palin being in the white house I crossed my fingers and voted for Obama. I now realize I was duped, the big candidates on the "right" and "left" are just different sides of the same coin, and they push the same agenda. They've done a great job in dividing us and we'll soon be thoroughly conquered.

It is sad that this person puts so much faith into the government. Although it is probably a waste of time I will begin to answer his question. (though not completely or thoroughly by any means).

Amendment I

This very American Right of Redress of Grievances Before Taxes is deeply embedded in our law.

The founding fathers fully recognized and clearly stated: that the Right of Redress of Grievances includes the right of Redress Before payment of Taxes, that this Right of Redress Before Taxes lies in the hands of the People, that this Right is the People’s non-violent, peaceful means to procuring a remedy to their grievances without having depend on – or place their trust in -- the government’s willingness to respond to the People’s petitions and without having to resort to violence.

How do you now exercise your right of redress? Especially when payment of taxes compounds your Grievances? If you don't pay you go to jail.

Amendment IV

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

Ok, so you mean to tell me that the Patriot Act and warrantless wiretapping of our phones, email, GPS locations are constitutional? The Bush administration started it and the Obama administration has not only voted to continue it but expand it.

Amendment VI

In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district where in the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defence.

The Obama Administration Authorizing the CIA to Kill US Citizens abroad looks like a pretty clear violation of the VI Amendment to me.

Amendment X

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

Speaks for itself.

Article I, section 10, clause 1. It states:

No State shall enter into any Treaty, Alliance, or Confederation; grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal; coin Money; emit Bills of Credit; make any Thing but gold and silver Coin a Tender in Payment of Debts; pass any Bill of Attainder, ex post facto Law, or Law impairing the Obligation of Contracts, or grant any Title of Nobility.

Where does the Private For Profit Federal Reserve Bank fit into this? We pay hundreds of billions in interest every year to this currupt institutution. US taxpayers paid $380 billion dollars (on the books) to the Fed in interest payments in '09 can we say rip off? That would pay for our global war to secure oil 3 times over during the same year! The Fed prints the money out of thin air, loans it to the government at interest, and here we are. Government debt is good if you have ownership in the Fed. Since they control the printing presses and have never been audited we have no idea what they do with the money they print, but if Cris Dodd's Fed empowerment bill helps you to to feel safe at night by all means don't get angry.

Lesson 1: A national tax for doing nothing (i.e. being taxed for not buying health insurance as mandated by the federal government) is a CAPITATION and must be proportioned, and because Leader Obama’s mandate is not proportioned it is UNCONSTITUTIONAL!

Lesson 2: The automatic penalty for not buying health insurance in the recently passed healthcare deform legislation is either a tax, or it is a BILL OF ATTAINDER, which is just as UNCONSTITUTIONAL.

I recently asked a young friend what he thought of everything going on in the world. He thinks we should move to a global world currency to replace the dollar.

I hope he's reading. I suggest watching "The Money Masters" videos on youtube. There are 22 of them. It's a couple hours of education, but by the end you'll have a clear understanding of the banking system and a better understanding of world history from the 1500's to the present day. International finance is controlled by a relatively small group of people. These people have been doing it for years and have become very rich and powerful at your expense. You should know about it.

The international financiers would like to impose a one world currency and they are currently creating financial problems to lead us to that end.

First time visitor numbers are down but returning visitors to this blog are up. The numbers are generally pretty low but I'm glad that a few people are enjoying the site. I know that I am. I will try to stay current and post regularly but I can't do it every day. However, if your like me and you can't keep your eyes shut while the train wreck piles up, you've come to the right place. Most Americans don't know what kind of people 9/11 truthers really are. So they can't figure out whether or not they are dangerous.

Below is a list of people who question what our Government has said about 9/11.

The list proves - once and for all - that people who question 9/11 are dangerous.

Email this list to everyone you know, to prove to them that 9/11 truthers are all dangerous nut cases.

Senior intelligence officers:

•Former military analyst Daniel Ellsberg said that the case of a certain 9/11 whistle blower is "far more explosive than the Pentagon Papers". He also said that the government is ordering the media to cover up her allegations about 9/11. And he said that some of the claims concerning government involvement in 9/11 are credible, that "very serious questions have been raised about what they [U.S. government officials] knew beforehand and how much involvement there might have been", that engineering 9/11 would not be humanly or psychologically beyond the scope of the current administration, and that there's enough evidence to justify a new, "hard-hitting" investigation into 9/11 with subpoenas and testimony taken under oath (see this and this).

•A 27-year CIA veteran, who chaired National Intelligence Estimates and personally delivered intelligence briefings to Presidents Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush, their Vice Presidents, Secretaries of State, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and many other senior government officials (Raymond McGovern) said “I think at simplest terms, there’s a cover-up. The 9/11 Report is a joke”, and is open to the possibility that 9/11 was an inside job.•A 29-year CIA veteran, former National Intelligence Officer (NIO) and former Director of the CIA's Office of Regional and Political Analysis (William Bill Christison) said “I now think there is persuasive evidence that the events of September did not unfold as the Bush administration and the 9/11 Commission would have us believe. ... All three [buildings that were destroyed in the World Trade Center] were most probably destroyed by controlled demolition charges placed in the buildings before 9/11." (and see this).

•A number of intelligence officials, including a CIA Operations Officer who co-chaired a CIA multi-agency task force coordinating intelligence efforts among many intelligence and law enforcement agencies (Lynne Larkin) sent a joint letter to Congress expressing their concerns about “serious shortcomings,” “omissions,” and “major flaws” in the 9/11 Commission Report and offering their services for a new investigation (they were ignored)

•20-year Marine Corps infantry and intelligence officer, the second-ranking civilian in U.S. Marine Corps Intelligence, and former CIA clandestine services case officer (Robert David Steele) stated that "9/11 was at a minimum allowed to happen as a pretext for war", and it was probably an inside job (scroll down to Customer Review dated October 7, 2006).

•A decorated 20-year CIA veteran, who Pulitzer-Prize winning investigative reporter Seymour Hersh called "perhaps the best on-the-ground field officer in the Middle East”, and whose astounding career formed the script for the Academy Award winning motion picture Syriana (Robert Baer) said that "the evidence points at" 9/11 having had aspects of being an inside job

•The Division Chief of the CIA’s Office of Soviet Affairs, who served as Senior Analyst from 1966 - 1990. He also served as Professor of International Security at the National War College from 1986 - 2004 (Melvin Goodman) said "The final [9/11 Commission] report is ultimately a coverup."

•Professor of History and International Relations, University of Maryland. Former Executive Assistant to the Director of the National Security Agency, former military attaché in China, with a 21-year career in U.S. Army Intelligence (Major John M. Newman, PhD, U.S. Army) questions the government's version of the events of 9/11.

Congressmen:

•According to the Co-Chair of the Congressional Inquiry into 9/11 and former Head of the Senate Intelligence Committee, Bob Graham, an FBI informant had hosted and rented a room to two hijackers in 2000 and that, when the Inquiry sought to interview the informant, the FBI refused outright, and then hid him in an unknown location, and that a high-level FBI official stated these blocking maneuvers were undertaken under orders from the White House (confirmed here)

•Current Democratic U.S. Senator Patrick Leahy said "The two questions that the congress will not ask . . . is why did 9/11 happen on George Bush's watch when he had clear warnings that it was going to happen? Why did they allow it to happen?"

#4 Handyman: I’d say 90% of the people I talk to know that things are going to hell. They all have a different take on it but there is a definate concensus. Lots of people are prepairing in one way or another storing food, supplies, and weapons.

I expect the banker controlled nation of Israel to continue to defi the laws of god and kill more Palastinians and most likely be at war with Iran by the Fall. Many Jews have been duped by the evil beast of global finance and its players. Some have realized that it’s wrong in their hearts though and have turned away.

Here in America the states are beginning to defy Washington . With a little jolt of truth and patriotism we may see the roaring heart of America come to life. I’m really hoping for that. The privileged few feel the world belongs to them. I don’t expect nuclear weapons to be used on a large scale, they are too distructive. I think an EMP attack is more likely. An EMP would send us into the stone age and drastically reduce the population in short order. Many would starve to death being totally unprepared and unable to survive without the system. Many more would die fighting over the scraps. The first winter would kill off the majority of who’s left, after the second year you’d know who the survivors are. If I was playing chess that’s when I’d send in the drones to find the hold out villages.

I think it will be swift efficient little moves to cut us back. I don’t expect them to waste fuel in a big showy WWII type war. It will just be little nudges. Unless of course we stand up for ourselves. Time will tell…

Ps. I realized that I didn't answer your question. I expect big fiscal problems, the devil will be making deals. If people start to wake up things will get interesting. People are really pissed over the crap they are pulling in Washington. Be ready for excitement. I don't think we are all as dumb as we look.

#5 EMT/Local Government official: Based on real estate sales (my most realistic basis for opinion), we are going to do pretty well. People seem to have decided we have hit the “bottom” and are beginning to purchase real estate. This is an excellent sign for the economy. While dollar volume is down, the number of closings is way up, so that is good news. I can’t predict whether it will continue, of course, but if it does, things will begin to improve.

By the way – I believe NONE of this has to do with the federal gov’t. I think people on the ground are what makes an economy recover. The government is a dangerous, bloated entity, and its most recent actions could undermine the good that has begun occurring in the economy. Probably will, so this optimistic report may become moot.

#6 - Blogger/Traveler: hmm. I don't have any idea. Things just keep getting worse. I'm thinking we've got a few years yet before shit really hits the fan. Honestly it's been nice not thinking much about economics and politics while being on vacation.

At the risk of sounding loony, my gut says that there is a undiscussed, added component motivating at least some (probably not all) of the scary, blue-blood family corporate overlords.That component would be the impending global natural disasters (major earthquakes, rising sea levels, hurricanes, tornadoes, floods in some areas, drought in others, dwindling potable water, etc..) Others within the aforementioned "scary people" camp are motivated by religious fanaticism (just spotted an article about Goldfein from Goldman-Sachs claiming his recent bonus was because he was doing "God's work," and of course you know that Eric Prince of Blackwater/Xe is, and comes from, a family of Catholic zealots.) In other words, what's on my mind this minute is how Earth's next cycle of apocalypses (both the Earth's natural reality version, as well as the nut-bag human version) is motivating a major play for control of all of the world's resources, most habitable areas & all of the world's labor force before the shit hits the fan & the overlords lose their hold amidst the chaos. But as for this year, the economy: I believe that there will be some band-aide-like schemes hatched to get people saddled with mortgages again, and similar processes that offer big promises, but mostly deliver big debt loads, as well as the chained-and-can't-rock-the-boat effect that stalls large scale (and necessary) social unrest. Tuition, credit cards, mortgage, high cost of living, stress = ball & chain.To me, the solution, the deliverance for many, will be housing and worker's cooperatives (if you haven't seen John Curl's book on the history of cooperatives in the U.S., "For All The People," check it out!) It is corporations & bankers who deliberately pushed the labor force, both skilled and unskilled, back into a wage slavery that was not the norm (or desire of the common person) from this country's inception. In fact, getting away from that was (supposedly) the very idea in the first place, right?Without control of the means to take care of our most basic human needs, we are not free.I also believe in skills acquisition. There are many "intellectual" socialists, anarchists or other flavors of "left," but too often they end up strictly existing in academic & rarefied circles - cycles of conferences, book tours, teaching, etc., but unlikely to draw from the working class to whom those ideas most effect and benefit because -- well -- they have no practical way to connect.Everyone, and I mean everyone who is not quadriplegic or living with some other devastating disability, should have functional skills in one or more of the following: building; growing & preparing food; making clothes - including making, weaving, spinning, plaiting, whatever the clothing or textile item is derived from; first aide, diagnosis and treatment of illness; mechanics; the ability to recognize and know something of the animals & plants around them; practical skills in survival in general. We need to find as many ways as possible of removing ourselves - our bodies, minds, ideas, labor, from the corporatocracy & recreate ourselves in decentralized self-sustaining communities that provide food, shelter & health care to one another. If we need to be militant about it, so be it. But it, ideally, should be done quickly, with plenty of useful free information available, and gather enough momentum to truly change things before the establishment knows what hit it (in many ways, the early "hippie" movement was about this, which is why it was such a threat to the establishment.)And we will have to be on guard for the inevitable corporate co-opting (ironic term here...) that will ensue. The same way "hippie fashion" became chic, or punk was co-opted and used for selling junk, or how the "green movement" is being corporatized.That's my 2 cents. Why do you ask?

The RentenDollar: A conspiracy theory OR Please tell me where I’m wrong.

(The background history in the beginning of this article is kinda long but wait until you come to the conclusions near the end! I think Larry has a pretty clear view.)

Late last night I came up with my very own conspiracy theory. It seemed a little odd at the time, but as I’ve continued to think it over, I’ve not yet been able to poke any significant holes in it. Of course, it is the kind of thing that an accountant turned science fiction author would come up with.

Basically, I’m starting to think that certain factions within our government actively want hyperinflation to occur as a surefire method of instituting de-facto communism in America…

Crazy, right? I know, you’re thinking that surely Correia has gone off the deep end and spouting off all sorts of doomsday nonsense, but hear me out first.

As many of you know, I’m a history geek. Last year I wrote my first alternative history novel set in 1932. Because I’m a stickler for authenticity, I did an absurd amount of research. I read every book I could get my hands on about what is normally called the interwar period. I mostly concentrated on American history/culture but I also learned a bit about the Weimar Republic.

The interesting factoids about the Weimar Republic that most of us remember is that it was the home of hyperinflation (remember the wheelbarrow full of money to buy a loaf of bread) and eventually it also gave us one of history’s greatest scumbags, Hitler. Other than that, most Americans don’t really know much about the Weimar Republic.

Okay, but where did the hyperinflation come from? I’m going to greatly simplify this because A. I’m a writer and accountant, not a historian, go to Wikipedia and B. This is only for a background to draw a comparison to what we’re doing right now.

The Weimar Republic (If I recall correctly, they actually called themselves the Deutsch Reich) came about after WWI. The German Empire had fallen apart, leadership fled, and for the next couple of years there were several battles fought between different factions of communists, socialists, and conservatives. (and when I say conservative it isn’t what it means here and now. I mean conservative back toward the empire, royalty, and all that entails). These were not polite political discussions. These were a series of violent mini-revolts where various cities would go off and declare themselves independent, like the Soviet State of Munich. Then a bunch of communists and the “Freikorps” would clash in the streets, then repeat a week later in a different city. It was bad.

Eventually the Weimar Republic was formed from the different groups, and immediately it had a whole new set of problems. The Germans signed the treaty of Versailles, they gave up a bunch of territory, and even worse, then took on a massive war debt and an agreement to basically pay the allies for the biggest war in history.

So what does a government, which is already sitting on a very damaged economy, do in order to pay this debt? They printed more money. Sounding familiar yet?

It got worse. As the Weimar printed more money, their government got more bloated, and ate up even more of their resources. (at one point a chancellor laid off several hundred thousand government employees to try and make ends meet). As their money inflated and became more useless, France got tired of not getting paid, and being jerks, invaded and took over the Ruhr, which was one of the most productive regions in Germany. This caused a drop in production, and then everybody else went on strike.

Meanwhile, the money kept inflating to levels that people couldn’t even understand. Back during the war, the Mark was something like 4 to 1 against the dollar. By the time they hit hyperinflation, they’d gone to millions to 1, and by the end, it was literally trillions to a single dollar. They would print new bills, and a few days later all they were good for was note paper. This is where the stories about the wheelbarrow full of money for bread comes from. To put this in perspective, this would be like you filling the trunk of your car with twenty dollar bills and then using all those trash bags full of money to buy some shoelaces and a tube of toothpaste.

So basically Germany was totally screwed.

So how did they get out of it? Contrary to what most Americans think, it wasn’t Hitler that came along and fixed Germany’s economic problems and turned them into an industrial powerhouse war machine through the sheer power of him being a complete ass. There was actually a time period in the thirties that the Weimer knew as the Golden Years, because they’d finally gotten much of their economy back under control.

They rebooted their currency. If I recall correctly, their new currency was called the Rentenmark. They introduced the Rentenmark, and you could trade in your trillions of crappy marks for one of them. It went back to 4-1 with the dollar. Now here’s the thing. You can’t just change the name and have new currency. Your currency has to actually be based on something. (kind of like how the dollar is based on good feelings and rainbows).

They based it on land. It was the one asset that the government could go and take over to use as a base asset, and land is always valuable because they aren’t making any more of it. Congratulations land owners, all your dirt belongs to us, but people were so desperate (and tired of carrying buckets of silly money around) that it didn’t matter. They were desperate, and desperate times called for desperate (and sometimes stupid) measures. Using the new asset-backed Rentenmarks, Germany was able to start paying their debts again and get on with a semblance of normalcy, well at least until they elected a bunch of lunatics in snazzy uniforms.

So why this long story? Because it is to compare with what we’re doing ourselves. Right now the United States is on the path to hyperinflation. CBO is predicting that by 2020, our debt will be 90% of our GDP. (EDIT: As was pointed out in the comments, my information there was wrong. We’ll hit 90% way way earlier than that, so it is even worse) Think about that for a second. That would be like if you had a $50,000 a year job, but you owed vicious thumb-breaking loan sharks $45,000 that was still collecting interest. Our entitlements are bankrupting us. Even before Health Control (because if you believe the government is going to spend a trillion bucks and cut the deficit, you must sleep in a helmet) we’re only a few years from all our tax dollars only being able to pay for Medicare, Social Security, and interest on our debt. That’s it.

Now, what happens when you as an individual can’t pay your debts or pay your bills on time? Your credit rating goes down. And when your credit rating goes down, you can no longer get that low interest Visa-Black-Platinum-Playboy card (with Sky Miles!) you can now only get the Soup-Kitchen-Discover card at 280% interest. Many people don’t realize it, but governments have credit ratings too. Right now we’ve got a great one, based on ‘because we’re so awesome’. But we’re getting really close to losing our good credit rating, (because awesome will only get you so far before you actually have to pay the bills) when that happens, all of those already really bad estimates about our future debt are going to get far worse. How much worse? Have you ever played Fallout 3 on the Xbox? Kind of like that.

So while we’re on our way to Thunder Dome, the government is printing dollars like crazy, faster than ever before, with no signs of letting up. Inflation is coming. When the credit rating tanks and the entitlements get worse (or the oil currency switches to something else) hello, Master Blaster! We’re in deep trouble. We’re looking at hyperinflation. Dollars worth nothing, burning them to keep warm would be more efficient, kind of thing.

Yet the government, that surely has some smart people in it, continues to increase our spending, increase our debt load, and do things that are the exact opposite of fiscally responsible. It is almost as if they want the system to collapse…

Then I remember the Weimar Republic. They had hyperinflation. How did they get out of it? By rebooting the currency. What was the new currency based on? Land. Land is an asset.

The government is gobbling up land out west like crazy. Every time we discover a deposit of oil or coal out here, the government immediately discovers a snail or a flower on it that might be endangered and grabs a couple hundred thousand more acres. The government is trying to kick 18,000 people out of their homes in Colorado to put in a new “tank range”.

But that wouldn’t be enough. Think beyond land. Think assets.

Fanny May and Freddy Mac now hold something like 50% of the mortgages in the US. The government has recently either directly taken over, or regulated the living crap out of our auto industry, insurance industry, banking and finance industry, and now health care…

The people of the Weimar were so desperate, that they would do anything to get out of their economic crisis.

Let’s imagine a hypothetical situation here. Let’s say that in a decade or so, our currency has collapsed. We owe far more than we produce. Companies are failing. Because all of our tax dollars are used just to pay for our debt, taxes have to be raised, which causes even more unemployment and decreased production. Entitlements can’t be met. The current economic crisis looks awesome in comparison, but there is no possible way out, because our money is now worthless.

So… Reboot the currency. Make a new RentenDollar.

The media can even point out what a fantastic idea this is because historically, it has worked before! The politicians will tell us that this is the only way and we must act quickly! People are desperate and will be told that “the private system has failed! Only government intervention can save us now!” (gee, why does that sound soooo familiar?)

Sure, they caused the problem, but that isn’t what most people will think, but as they’ve shown, they don’t really care what we think anyway. They will not let a good crisis go to waste. There is only one teensy downside to this reboot though…

See, the RentenDollar can’t be based on good feelings like the old dollar, it must be based on ASSETS. And since the capitalist system has failed, and the government has already got its fingers in all these various companies, instead of just regulating these companies, why shouldn’t the government just own them?

All those mortgages? They now belong to the government. Banks? Belong to the government. Industrial production? Government. Medical. Government. They’re assets, and they’re necessary to back our new currency.

You don’t like it? People are starving. There are riots in the streets. Cities are burning. We have to act now! Won’t somebody think of the children! There’s no time to read this 9,000 page bill! HURRY!

…And just like that, America has become a communist country. State control and ownership of everything.

So, let’s poke some holes in my late night theory. Please, somebody tell me how this is impossible. Maybe we’re not heading for an economic collapse. Maybe we’re not going to have hyperinflation. If anybody has any evidence of that, I’d love to hear it, because this is kind of depressing.

Or, the other way that this idea could be silly and implausible is if there was no possible way that elements within our government would want to exercise total control over our lives… Yeah… that’s just absurd.

Ask yourself this one question. Do you believe that our current federal government, if presented with the opportunity, would take over and control everything? Yes or No.

Lastly I recently read a pamplet put out by the State Department in 1961, publication #7277, it's called "Freedom From War: The United States Program for General and Complete Disarmament in a Peaceful World". This publication is current policy and has not been repealed. This publication outlines three stages to total disarmament of the United States and the rest of the world. It then talks about setting up the U.N. as the worlds only army and police force to govern all nations.

Obamacare Not Such a Good Deal for Kids and Young Adults

I decided to call a couple of my representatives today to let them know that they should be ashamed for passing the health care bill and selling out their constituents. When I explained to one young intern that forcing me to pay for a service I don't use is an added tax burden, I couldn't believe what he told me next. He said that if the insurance premiums are too expensive for me they offer subsidies to help pay for it. I told him he's missing the point, It's a service I don't want or need. I don't want to be forced to buy it and I don't want subsidies to help pay for it. I told him subsidies don't magically appear out of thin air, it either gets taken from somebody else or gets piled onto the national debt, neither of which is right. This thing they call a "Health Care Bill" hires 16,500 new IRS agents not 16,500 new Doctors and Nurses, who are they trying to fool?

While reading the Constitution today I found something interesting:

Under Article 1, section 9, looks like paragraph 4, it reads:

"No capitation, or other direct, Tax shall be laid."

While I'm at it, under Article 1, section 8 it says-

Dissent is the highest form of patriotism. This country was founded on it. There is nothing wrong with people wanting to exercise their second ammendment rights. Everyone should own a gun or three. But people should exhaust all other means of gaining control of an out of control government before resorting to violence (as Alex points out). I don't think we've done that, not by a long shot. I consider myself way more active than the average Joe and I still don't do very much. We need to know the truth, accept it, and get pissed off. Once we get to that stage you need to grab a hold of that volcano of energy and direct it in clear and positive ways.

I agree with Alex that we need to get off our lazy butts and get involved! It's easy to sit back and watch the country go to heck but the noble thing to do is put some effort into making things right. We need to be active in our local, state, and national governments. Smart uncorruptible individuals need to run for office. That's not all, the hippies raised a pretty big fuss and stopped the Vietnam War. Running for office isn't the only job that needs to be done, we need people informing other people, connecting, and talking to their co-workers. We need people passing out pamphlets, putting up posters, painting murals, and organizing rallies. In the 60's they had the draft to get them stirred to action. Today they just pay some private mercenary $100k a year to do the job and add it to our bill. Maybe if someone figured out how much we all owe because of an out of control government and corrupt central bank we would be stirred to action....OK, here are my figures...right now the country is officially $14,500,000,000,000 in debt on the books, divide that by 300 million Americans that means that every man, woman, and child owes a bank, foreign government, or wall street investor about $50,000, that does not include the unfunded liabilities of Social Security and Medicare. Even if we stopped promising new benefits right now, current promises are estimated to be $100+ trillion dollars. So in reality every person in the US needs to pay the Government closer to $400,000 each-plus interest. They say some of that will be re-distributed to us after being paid into the government coffers. My question is why do we need the middle man? The government is awfully reckless with money. I take personal responsibility for my life and don't need or want any big brother government assistance but I also don't want them to steal from me to give it to someone else. The health care bill is a joke. Sure Government inc. may be getting out from under some unfunded Medicare liabilities but they are forcing it right back on us and it will be even more expensive now that they've gotten for profit insurance companies involved. It takes a big ego to fix a problem with another problem.

Most Say Tea Party Has Better Understanding of Issues than Congress Well then get on the ballot and REPEAL this crap. Make the impossible happen. No tuckin tail and heading for the hills, it's time to stand tall. It's a good idea to have a plan B but lets start with plan A. Please send comments with your thoughts.

This email must be getting screened by our police state government before being released. People ask me what do I do that's right to oppose all that is wrong, the more important question is what do you do? We ought to be living right and holding those accountable who aren't living right. I think it's even easier than that, if we all start living right there won't be room for anyone to live wrong. Hiding out in the woods is fine for a last ditch effort to prolong the trip. But why do we let a few that choose to live VERY wrong to do so at our expense?

1. Not everyone knows how wrong things are. Information sharing is very important. Once you know and develop some anger by knowing, you can do something productive with that energy.

2. Pimping and Prostitution, as long as we let them pay off our "representation" to bend us over nothing will change. Nobody seems to remember how good real freedom feels. What's more important, slaving away the best years of your life saving money to grow old, fat, and lazy on, or spending those years getting out and enjoying life? Instead of that stupid saying "who ever dies with the most toy wins" (which merchants and creditors love) we should celebrate who ever does the most good for everybody. Instead of thinking small time individual greed we should be greedy on a global scale. I want this whole damn world to be doing great, then me my neighbor and everyone I know will be having a good time and it will be a lot more fun. Its easy to steal from others to prop yourself up but it just makes the world shitty. If we are such a smart species can't we figure that out?

3. Giving up, Damn it who said it's time to give up and roll over? The fight is just beginning. Remember there is a lot more of us than there are of them. By following in their footsteps we validate their greed. Stuff isn't important, it comes and goes. Stuff bogs you down, the more you get the bigger container you need to put it all in. When your old and can't wipe your own ass how are you going to feel about your life? Is it really all about accumulating massive amounts of crap or is there something more to this experience?

What do I do? I scream at the top of my lungs of the things I don't agree with because not doing so is consent. What do you do?

Hey Vinekeeper,

As far as fighting for liberty and quoting New Hampshire's state motto "Live Free or Die" I am no longer under the delusion that major "events" happen by accident. The likely hood of being left alone in an ideal collapse scenario like in "The World Made by Hand" is slim. I can't hide in the woods and pretend it's not happening. As far as being a "sincere builder" and "building what's right" I believe it's already been built but we've let it go into serious disrepair. The founders of this country dealt with the same things that are happening now, they actually tried to put up every road block they could to slow it down. By not continuing to declare our freedom we not only forget our heritage (as you point out) but we actually allow the weeds to take root in this beautiful garden.

Check it out if you haven't seen it: http://www.boatbuilding.piczo.com The reason behind the name was Tinkerbelle took the kids to neverland where they always had fun and never grew old kinda like in the bible when it says "you must become as little children to enter the kingdom of heaven". One thing that I noticed early in life is that most older people where grumpy, miserable, and downright mean. I told myself I would never be like that. If growing up means that you turn into a jerk than I don't want to have anything to do with it. Experience has shown me how life can screw with you and make you forget where you came from. There is alot to be upset about here, and it's hard not to shout about how wrong it is. If everyone really does know how bad it is, how come they all go along with it?

I sign maybe five petitions a week, I call senators and congressman sometime multiple times in the same day. I was sending out lots of emails till a few people got upset about it and I started up the blog again. If the silent majority would speak up things probably wouldn't have gotten to this point. This is a government of those that participate and it's mostly corporations.

They've broken through our lines because of our apathy. Freedom states drawing a line in the sand is the next line of defense. I'm ready to vote with my feet and go where personal freedom is defended. The future is going to be pretty bad for who's ever left to inhabit it unless we try to make it better. I could go as far out into the woods as possible and live out my days but I wouldn't be helping anybody but myself. How can you be happy when you know that so many aren't? Is there a greater purpose to being here than eating and shitting? It would be nice if the trail was in a little bit better shape for the next guy.

Please don't use my name on the blog, I want to stay anonymous. I couldn't figure out how to take my name off your post so I deleted the whole thing. Not to mention I was sorta ticked at you at first, but I not only forgive you but I thank you for the energy.

My community is the one that supports each others freedom. I've been all over this country and halfway around the world. I know how to make friends and I can carve out my niche.

Action plan? My efforts as an armchair constituent aren't good enough!? :-( Imagine if hundred million did what little I do. So I'm going to tell everyone I know, I'm going to tell people I don't know. I want people to know they aren't alone, I want to know I'm not alone either.

I see no point in tip toeing through life to arrive safely at death. I am not going to contort myself to fit into the machine. I am not having any children, I was "fixed" several years ago. That doesn't mean that I hate people. We should be working for a better quality of life, it's directly proportionate to how tightly we are packed in here. Will the earth worshippers put us down with a wimper or a bang? The world they've designed doesn't look like anything I'd want my offspring to live in. Still, is it right the ones that are already here should be thrown to the jackals?

I think we need to stand with states that defend freedom, if that means a revolution or god forbid a civil war so be it.

It seems like America now only exists in history books. Everything that is happening right now is wrong, but when you flip around your perspective, cross your eyes a bit and think like a tyrant you can understand why.

The next logical step is to shut down the Internet. They can't have us freely sharing information with each other and realizing the full scope of his worldwide scam. I would expect these world government types to conduct a false flag Internet event, paint "terrorism" on it, and shut down all access to real information pretty soon. The 9/11 cat is out of the bag, more people wake up everyday and can see right through the lies. We are reaching a critical mass. The states are beginning to push back. The liars are chasing their tail trying to cover all this up. They need another shock and awe distraction to disrupt the developing culture and cut off the supply of information not under their control.

We are dealing with the same old run of the mill greed the world has dealt with for centuries. They think the same old tired crap they've always thought. Not that they're listening, but I do have some free advise. You'll never hold onto control through aggression and brute force, you make way to many enemies. Your not much of a leader if people curse you under their breath. If you did something REALLY great, who wouldn't want to stand with you? If you did something to benefit everyone on this rock we'd all move together. You'll never get someone to put their heart into it out of fear. A house built on lies and corruption will fall. Your time at the top will be limited.

The Elusive Potato and The Mouse that Roared

I was out digging up last years spuds today, it's amazing how they multiply. Root vegetables are great. Not only is the potato a high energy food, but it doesn't require any refridgeration. Potatoes can be left in the ground all winter and you can dig them up as you need them or you can dig them up in the fall and store them inside. I tried three varieties last year, reds, whites, and blues... :-D Real American Fare! I found that the reds were the easiest to spot while I was digging followed closely by the whites. The blue potatoes however are very difficult to see, their dark skin looks the same as the dirt and they are fairly easy to mistake for a rock. I really enjoy eating blue potatoes, they are unique looking and I hear they are full of vitamins. If a hungry mob wanted to steal your potatoes they would have a hard time finding them if you planted blues, (but so would you). The top of the plants die off early in the year. You could have a huge covert potato patch that would be hard to identify. If you keep all your food stored in your house and you got robbed or your house burnt down you'd still have a huge patch of potatoes in the ground. A nice potato patch could keep you alive if things got tough. Even if someone was so desparate they started digging, they wouldn't know where to dig in the garden. If someone found the spot you grew them they'd still have to know what they were looking for to find a blue potato.

I am totally amazed by the amount of seed I harvested from my garden. Even now in the spring I found corn and beans that I mist last fall that are dry and ready to plant. New carots have already started to sprout up naturally from last years seed. I have got thousands of radish seeds from only a few plants that I let grow. Radishes are great, they grow really fast and you can have many harvests during the season.

It is really silly that a group of dominent men want to steal the world and then sell it back to us. It's all out there free to anyone willing to nurture it. This planet is full of abundance, don't let the "credit crises", "bailouts", or massive debts confuse you. These assholes plan to make indebted servants out of us through government hock and interest owed to the central banks (interest owed on money that never existed until it was borrowed!) To hell with them, when we all understand how stupid their game is we can walk away. It's no fun playing with them anyway.

Iceland, the Mouse that Roared

I thought I heard something the other night. It was a distant sound, a low rumbling, a roar from some far off beast that had finally pronounced its presence. It woke me for a second, but it was so distant I felt no threat and simply rolled over and went back to sleep. The next morning I learned that Iceland was taking a stand. It was refusing to pay its British and Dutch debts. It is claiming the debts are a result of fraud, and it's right. They have made the offer to pay some years from now, if they can afford it at that time, and only as a percentage of their GDP. This offer has been, of course, declined by Iceland's creditor banks as they demand payment in the form of real assets.

The Icelanders have grown a pair, so to speak. They are doing something I wish Americans would have done, or will do in the future. They are standing up to the privately owned banks that seem to think they are above the law, that they can change the rules at their whim, and that they alone know what's best for the world, which of course happens to empower them and help their profits. I may not agree with all the politics of Iceland. It might not be the bastion of freedom one looking to get away from intrusive government might run to, but I do admire their stance against the banksters.

Let's examine the situation a little closer. The Icelanders claim that private banks owe the money to other private banks, not taxpayers. The people who own the private banks should be responsible for paying back the creditor banks, not the people of Iceland. I agree wholeheartedly with that assessment. Furthermore, I would take it a step further and make the assertion that any government official voting for any public borrowing that requires payment of public funds for interest be held responsible, or their family be held responsible, should the loans go into default. In other words, these public officials should not be allowed to maintain their fortunes while the common folk are expected to pay for the mistakes they made. Perhaps that would help stop the corruption.

It seems that Iceland was fooled into the same ponzi scheme the rest of the world finds itself in. This all revolves around the fact that money in and of itself has no intrinsic value. It is just paper, for the most part, and in the modern world it is just data floating around in cyberspace. Even metal coins are made from cheap and common metals anymore. The fiat system devised by the central banks are designed to collapse at some point, and it's designed to collapse in such a way that the very few, very rich, very powerful end up with all the marbles. It's not enough to them, it seems, to be at the top of the heap, they have to be so high up and keep the common folk down so low as to be untouchable.

Those that own the banks now hope that they can swoop in and buy up the nation's infrastructure for pennies on the dollar, or in this case aurar on the krona. This is how they operate. They print money based on nothing but debt at negligible cost to themselves, then charge interest on that debt, interest that is never created by the way, and then when the debt can't be repaid they end up acquiring all the real wealth that's been created. It's a brilliant scheme in its simplicity. They end up with all the real wealth and they risk nothing of any real value. I could be wrong, but I think it's safe to say that the Icelanders figured this out when their creditor banks started demanding things like their geothermal power stations and other such publicly owned infrastructure as payment for their defaulted loans. They cried "foul!" - as well they should having played by the rules all this time - and charged that they had been defrauded. They may well have shocked the establishment with their refusal to pay the extortion.

One may well ask, "Is this the fate that awaits all nations?" How many nations in the world today are in the same boat as Iceland? How many are having problems just servicing the interest on their debt? I dare say it would be easier to count the nations that weren't experiencing debt trouble. And one could rightly ask where all the money has gone. Certainly the debt hasn't been put back into the economy to create more wealth. Indeed, I would venture a guess that there's trillions of dollars, euros, yens, pounds, francs, marks, you name it, stashed away in vaults somewhere just waiting for the day when they can be used again, money that should no longer exist that somehow found its way into secret vaults that also shouldn't exist.

It is interesting to note that the biggest banks, the ones that managed to get bailed out by US tax dollars rather than made to liquidate, are intimately connected to the same international bankers who own the central banks across the globe. Indeed, Goldman Sachs seems to have become a "bank of the world," so to speak, as it has its fingers in a little bit of everyone's pies these days. It is also interesting to note that their largest competitors were allowed to fail, effectively setting them up with monopoly privileges. That's how the power banking elite want it, all the money in their hands and all the corporations under their thumb as they monopolize the issuance of currency and credit. Everyone will have to do as they say or they will quickly become bankrupt and destitute. Such is the power of monopoly.

One may well wonder what happens next. The British and Dutch have threatened economic sanctions should the Icelanders fail to fall in line, but is this how we want to treat our brethren? Is this how we want to treat our allies that stood by us in the darkest of times? Do we now just shun people we consider friends simply because they stand up for what they believe is right? Do we go so far as to commit an act of war on such a democratic nation because they recognize a fraud when they see one? This situation should get everyone thinking. The corruption now exposed is so grievous and obvious that we should all realize the time has come to obliterate the current system and deny any power to those who brought this situation to bear.

It is once again time to set up a system of money based on labor instead of debt. We should have a system where free people are able to own property outright, not have to borrow to afford it and then worry that an uncaring bank may come and claim it should one find one´s self in financial trouble. Similarly, it is very disturbing that government can claim private property via eminent domain and non payment of property taxes as if they feel they already own the land you pay for. These wrongs have needed correction for a long time now and hopefully the actions of the Icelanders will help start the ball rolling.

While the Greeks are rioting because they worry their entitlements will be taken away, the Icelanders have been able to take a more direct roll in the political process. The Greeks may well feel they have been left out of the political process, much like many Americans feel at this point in time as we watch the congress blatantly ignore the wishes of the common folk time and again. The bailouts, the wars, the passing of laws violating our rights and the health care bills are all examples of the minority political class ignoring the wishes of the majority to the detriment of society. The Icelanders may have to pay a price for their bravery, but they are finding their way back to freedom and self reliance.

We have been dependent on these banks for far too long and they have taken advantage of it. They have threatened our lawmakers with martial law and economic destruction. They have refused to honor the will of the people and answer questions involving how they´ve spent our money. As I write this, a very few senators, Bob Corker (R-TN), Richard Shelby (R-AL), Chris Dodd (D-CT) and Judd Gregg (R-NH), are working to strip the Audit the Fed amendment from the Financial Reform Bill and give the Federal Reserve even more power. This will assure they will never be held accountable for the wrongs they have done. These senators need to be shown in no uncertain terms that we the people have had enough and will not obey their dictates and whims any longer.

We as a society need to start producing again. We need to start competing with others who wish to produce. This is how wealth is created. The more wealth we create, the more prosperous we all become. For a few decades now, we have tried to maintain our lifestyles with a service economy. It didn´t work. Now the economy is collapsing worldwide. Now the banks are hoarding that which they created and are trying to claim the real wealth that should be owned by private sovereigns. We need to ask ourselves, can we be proactive and stop this before we wake up and find ourselves in the same boat as Iceland? Critique of the Financial Elites plan for NWO

The plan concocted for the world by a few turds floating at the top is becoming clearer. I now understand their plan a little better and I've been comparing it to my own world view. I have found that I agree with them about a few things. This world has a human problem, there is WAY too many of us here all at once. The zealous consumption of a material lifestyle is depleting the world of resources. Like guppies in a fish bowl or active yeast fermenting wine we can only multiply and expand to fill our limited space and supplies. Machines and fossil fuel has allowed humans to populate way beyond the natural solar holding capacity of the earth. I've understood that for years. So while I do agree that the population needs a drastic reduction I think it's possible through education and voluntary reduction. I think if people are told the truth they will come to the logical conclusion.

What I don't agree with is how the shadow elite run an ongoing campaign of lies and distraction. Real leaders stand in the light and include the population in coming up with solutions. The world banksters have a long history of acting in their own self interest. They have done nothing that would make me believe that they now intend to do anything in the interest of the species. Years of crimes perpetrated against humanity for their own selfish gain show the international financiers for what they really are. Given their track record I expect the depopulation of the world will be pretty sinister.

If I were to try to think like them (which may be hard since I feel empathy towards other humans beings) I would say that they want to exterminate a number of us. After years of robbery and privileged living at the expense of everyone else they feel as though the world belongs to them. We are burning up THEIR limited supplies of oil, fresh water, fish, steel, etc... in order to live out our lives, eat, and reproduce. We've become a problem because of our exponential growth. I would like to point out that they not only facilitated that growth but encouraged it during the capitalist years. Because they constantly lie to us through their media investments, it really is all their fault. We've been purposely kept stupid so that we don't figure out what they're doing. The power elite know what they do is wrong, that is what they stay in the shadows.

So,to summarize I have come to the conclusion that they are sad ugly creatures that have no soul. You could easily consider them less than human since they've cut all ties to what it feels like to be human.

Now that I've bad mouthed them really good. Let's do it a little bit more. The planned police state world is sad and horrifying. Checkpoints, radio tracking, and biometric ID have no place in the happy free world of my imagination. We are headed toward a sick perversion of the life experience. When one looks to the future through the lens that is being handed to us, anarchy looks a lot better. We can only hope that when the puppet masters perpetrate the next false flag attack that it fails to bring about the intended result. Hopefully people begin to see through the lies and condemn the real criminals. I hope that there are some good guys in the FBI, I've heard of the Oath Keepers. We need allies to go after these high criminals in the government and international finance. They need to be brought to justice for their crimes against humanity.

A friend of mine said today "The revolution will start with a man holding a shovel not a gun." He may be correct. If people voted against the big brother nanny state by providing for themselves and choosing to not participate in the scam we may have a peaceful revolution on our hands! Government only has the power that we give them, or so we're taught. Unfortunately, the creation of the unconstitutional Federal Reserve Bank has given government power through valueless paper currency printed without our consent. To lead the charge during the Modern American Revolution we will be called to sacrifice. When we decide to no longer participate in a grossly corrupt system we begin to take it's power away. I just thought of that old saying: "just because everyone else is jumping off a cliff doesn't mean you should too." The country was led to the cliff in 1913 with the passing of the Federal Reserve Act and federal income taxes the same year (no coincidence). So we see that the illness is cancer (aka Fed). We've discovered the blood vessels keeping this tumor alive (phony money system charging us interest on money printed out of thin air). Now for the cure, this part involves sacrifice. We have to starve the tumor. We need to cut off the beast from getting a piece of every productive thing that a human can do. The beast doesn't produce anything of value, the product they push is debt. So your asking "what is it you want me to do?" Well for starters we must reduce ourselves to hunter gatherers and peasants. :-D hahaha! OK, not totally. hahahaha! Seriously though the interconnectedness of modern society really is good. Not all of us need to be farmers but that would help. Our basic need is food and you don't need money for that when you make it yourself. When you are self sufficient it won't matter what kind of carrot they hang in front of you, you don't need it. Quit using credit cards, using them raises the price of goods for everyone. Credit card companies (banks) charge merchants a percentage for accepting them, that raises the price of the product creating a hidden tax for the beast. Basically don't buy and sell, the beast imposes its unjust taxes on both sides. Make as little money as possible or none at all. Starving the beast will involve this kind of sacrifice unless our representatives repeal the Federal Reserve Act, until then a little bit of all you do goes to feeding the beast. Barter as much as possible for goods and services. If you don't make much money the beast won't either. If you don't have land try guerrilla gardening or sharing with others. Live Free, Be Free.

One hopeful consequence of having more time on our hands will be health, maybe even some happiness. In the rush to go nowhere during the twentieth century we had definitely sacrificed both. Fast food became the norm, nobody had the time to pay attention to what they were eating while they rushed off to their important jobs. Progress removed the need for natural exercise from our daily routine. We’d wake up in the morning and take a seat in our car, drive to work where the “educated” had a desk job where they could sit all day, then we’d go back to sitting in our car for the drive home and plop down on the couch till it was time for bed. Is it really any wonder why so many are obese? Progress has reduced us to meat bags on a stick. (I'm aware of the irony of that picture of me at the top of this blog ;-P ) Once you’ve put on 400 or 500 pounds you decide to get a gym membership to remind your body what it’s like to move. It’s silly that we now PAY to do meaningless physical labor, (real progress).

If more people started gardening again it would benefit us in many ways. I know what you're thinking, “only a peasant slave would say such a thing” or “we don’t need to do that anymore” ;-) While it’s true big agro-business has taken over food production for the masses, is it really an improvement? Do you think Monsanto’s genetically modified corn is better for you than the original? How about DuPont's variety? Are all the chemical fertilizers and pesticides used to grow it improving your health? Curing cancer isn’t some mystical far out breakthrough. It’s easy, quit eating chemicals that don’t belong in your body. If a pesticide sprayed on a food plant kills other critters are we really so brain dead that we think it won't harm us when WE eat it?

Taking control of what fuels your body is real progress. Big corporations don’t care about you, they only care about the bottom line. Congress votes in favor of who pays them the most. Don’t expect Big Brother to make decisions that are going to keep you healthy. That is your responsibility. There is an alternative however to putting yourself in the warm sunshine and having the satisfaction of turning the soil. A growing number of organic supermarkets offer food the way God intended for double or triple the price and it’s totally worth it. When you consider the cost of health complications down the road from eating garbage and how you feel day to day the choice becomes clear. If you've got the money to pay for it that's great, but I feel that growing food yourself is even more rewarding. There is something magic about springtime, the sun comes out and the earth warms up.

There is a certain sense of security knowing you can provide for yourself. As the diseased central banks spread sickness though the governments of the world and they begin to die, the probability of chaos seems likely. Depending on that system to support us is insane. While the system still has a heart beat it seems prudent to begin cultivating some gardening skills. This way you have something to fall back on as you are learning. If you wait till all hell brakes loose before you plant your first seed, crop failure will be more than a learning experience. Oh yeah, did I mention it's fun to be outside in the sunshine? If you get started this year, those little seed packs that you buy will multiply. If you purchase some open pollinated heirloom variety seeds (the natural non-hybrid type you can replant generation after generation) and save the seeds, the second year you will have enough seeds to plant a field.

If we are lucky the current depression will become so bad most of us will have to revert back to small scale farming, and we will be much healthier for it. It will improve our health both physically and nutritionally, and if I may be so bold, I think it will improve our spiritual health as well.

In many ways we have already been disarmed. The strength of a citizen militia is in numbers but government armies have all the big guns. Modern weapons have taken away the balance I believe the founding fathers had envisioned in the second amendment. It is a big joke that these crackpots in Washington want to restrict gun rights in this country to eliminate gang violence in Mexico. Who are they kidding? Automatic weapons haven't been legal for purchase by civilians in this country since 1986. Now they seem determined to take semi-automatic weapons away for good too. I wonder how many years till they outlaw sticks and stones. As it's been said by the founding fathers, the 2ND amendment gives liberty it's "teeth". However when you compare the forces of hell our modern army can bring down on anyone in the world it really makes you wonder, are they really so afraid of us? Could we rise up one day reclaim our freedom? I don't think our gluttonous representatives need any help in tearing down the empire they created for themselves. They've sucked the country dry. Believe me I despise the Federal Reserve for the crooked institution that it is, but when Ben pulled the plug on congress I paused for a second to say thanks. I mean the Fed did it for their own self interest. The International Bankers can't be scene trashing their paper money, that would be bad for business. Not that it matters though, the debt is too much to pay back and they know it. The classic deal with the devil, sink or swim. As we sink, the New World currency will be ushered in and the shadow world government with it. It's hardly behind the curtain anymore, it's sorta like when you are little and find out about Santa Claus. One thing is for sure, truth is stranger than fiction. I recommend you start gardening and practice general self sufficiency. You probably shouldn't wait to buy that "Assault rifle" you've always wanted either.

Just as the seasons must progress from Spring to Summer through Fall and into Winter, a Crisis must follow an Unraveling. History does not have a rewind button. The country has become weak and fragile. The short-sighted economic choices and deferred fiscal decisions will collide with peak oil and uncontrolled globalization to inflict a horrific resolution to this Crisis. The gravity of our situation cannot be overstated. As politicians and the mainstream media play pretend games of recovery and false optimism, the country hurtles closer to the abyss. You may have noticed that as a country we not only did not prepare for Winter, we proceeded like it would never come. No leader has emerged to bluntly speak the truth to the American people. The free spending junkie government has finally been cut off by the Fed. Expect it to thrash about as the high wears off. All that is left is for individuals to prepare their families for the immense challenges ahead.

As Jim Quinn points out, we have gotten to a point where most of those who have the power to make the necessary changes have refused to do so, either because they are ignorant of the facts or are ignoring the signs altogether.

This leaves us with one option, which is essentially to prepare ourselves, as individuals, families and close community units, to weather the coming storm. We’re talking much more than just storing freeze-dried food, ammo and gas. To prepare for an event like this requires a different kind of mindset - one of sustainability and self reliance that will require a dynamic approach to a variety of problems. We need to become more self reliant in terms of income generation, food procurement, and energy production. It’s time to get back to our rugged American roots and start doing things for ourselves instead of holding out our hands looking for freebies from a broke government support system.

I might add, as we begin to recoil from the financial institutions ourselves and the drugged mania they offered we will find a new happiness. There is a more sane and natural life on the other end of this, although it will be painful getting there.

Climate change and "the green movement", is something most people can get behind at face value. Unfortunately through this front they plan to increase energy cost on consumers through creative taxes, encourage depopulation, and basically whittle us down to a manageable sized slave class so they can continue living life by sucking it out of others. As chaotic as it seems it has all been planned.

A friend of mine has said we need a “people’s Tea Party” without politicians trying to take control of it. He told me of a growing number of people planning a silent protest on April 15. He said that they plan to withdraw all their money from the banks on that day. He explained to me the beauty of this action is that it doesn’t require you to make a sign, drive to the capital, or stand in the cold. It's completely legal and you don’t need to lose your voice yelling and screaming either. You simply go to the bank all on the same day and withdraw your account to the bare minimum or nothing at all. He said if you’re worried about carrying that kind of money, you simply put it in a safety deposit box in the same bank. He said it will have the same effect either way, as long as the funds come off the bank balance sheets it will send a shock wave through the system that the government won’t be able to ignore. February 24, 2010 "Washington Times" -- A lingering technical question about the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks still haunts some, and it has political implications: How did 200,000 tons of steel disintegrate and drop in 11 seconds? A thousand architects and engineers want to know, and are calling on Congress to order a new investigation into the destruction of the Twin Towers and Building 7 at the World Trade Center.

"In order to bring down this kind of mass in such a short period of time, the material must have been artificially, exploded outwards," says Richard Gage, a San Francisco architect and founder of the nonprofit Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth.

Mr. Gage, who is a member of the American Institute of Architects, managed to persuade more than 1,000 of his peers to sign a new petition requesting a formal inquiry.

"The official Federal Emergency Management [Agency] and National Institute of Standards and Technology reports provide insufficient, contradictory and fraudulent accounts of the circumstances of the towers' destruction. We are therefore calling for a grand jury investigation of NIST officials," Mr. Gage adds.

The technical issues surrounding the collapse of the towers has prompted years of debate, rebuttal and ridicule.

He is particularly disturbed by Building 7, a 47-story skyscraper, which was not hit by an aircraft, yet came down in "pure free-fall acceleration." He also says that more than 100 first-responders reported explosions and flashes as the towers were falling and cited evidence of "multi-ton steel sections ejected laterally 600 ft. at 60 mph" and the "mid-air pulverization of 90,000 tons of concrete & metal decking."

There is also evidence of "advanced explosive nano-thermitic composite material found in the World Trade Center dust," Mr. Gage says. The group's petition at www. ae911truth.org is already on its way to members of Congress.

"Government officials will be notified that 'Misprision of Treason,' U.S. Code 18 (Sec. 2382), is a serious federal offense, which requires those with evidence of treason to act," Mr. Gage says. "The implications are enormous and may have profound impact on the forthcoming Khalid Shaikh Mohammed trial."

It seems doom and gloom are not popular topics. I checked the stats and It seems I'm really not getting too much interest on this site. Maybe everybody already knows that things are fucked up and are tired of hearing about it. Perhaps people are more interested in solutions than what's wrong. As far as solutions go I'm open to suggestions. The founding fathers said they were led by divine providence. Maybe I need to develop a stronger faith that things are going to be alright. Or get comfortable with the fact that things may not be alright in the near term but hopefull things will get better in the future. Or be greatfull things are still pretty good right now. At any rate I think I will change the direction of this blog to seek out solutions rather than presenting various forms of the problem.

Ok, so here are some random solutions in no particular order.

* Be more self sufficient, try to live seprate from and outside the system.
* Use the barter system instead of the Feds dirty fiat money.
* Promote a local currency in your community.
* Grow your own chemical free food.
* Buy local (monsanto free) organic food from your local farmers market.
* Make more of your own stuff.
* Buy local, support your community.
* Boycott chain stores, resturaunts, walmarts, etc...
* Cut up your credit cards, using them raises the price for all of us and only profits the banks.
* Be a leader, share what you know with people in your community.
* Fix it and use it some more before you throw it away.
* Keep an open mind.
* Call your Senators and Congressman and tell them what to do!
* Sign petitions
* Visit the forest to get your mind straight once in awhile.
* Treat people with love and respect. (you attract more flies with honey than vinegar) AHA that's why nobody reads this blog :-P
* Try not to buy much gasoline, make biodiesel, run your car on woodgas, get an electric car, ride a bike, walk, hitch a ride with a friend. (I know, I'm addicted too....if only it was still $1.25 gal....)
* Eat less
* Exercise more
* Know your rights and exercise those too.
* Have fun
* Keep in touch with people
* live like you mean it

Cass Sunstein, a Harvard law professor, co-wrote an academic article entitled "Conspiracy Theories: Causes and Cures," in which he argued that the government should stealthily infiltrate groups that pose alternative theories on historical events via "chat rooms, online social networks, or even real-space groups and attempt to undermine" those groups.
As head of the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, Sunstein is in charge of "overseeing policies relating to privacy, information quality, and statistical programs," according to the White House Web site.

Politics is not a fun topic to talk about for most people. I know lots of people that would rather change the subject. It's more fun to watch american idol than it is to be concerned with political happenings. Unfortunetly whether you participate or not decisions are made everyday that dictate how you will be allowed to live your life. Laws are past by a majority vote (the majority who participates.) I don't agree with "Representative" governance. There is no possible way that some jerk can accurately represent the views of a group of people larger than himself. The whole idea of representation is outdated. Back before we had telephones and internet maybe you needed to send somebody to represent your group, but not anymore. It's easy to bribe a few Representatives into doing something bad for those they represent. If we all had an equal say you'd have to improve everyones life to gain their support. You couldn't call it bribary anymore. We need to get active. Whether we like it or not, even if we don't care about our own life the next generation is going to get it worse. The founding fathers told us if we traded liberty for security we would have neither. They where right, the only security in life is that which you create yourself and cultivate within your community. It is not passed down from beaurocrats, they don't make anything productive for society. Politians create debt and they take away freedoms. We need to keep the pressure on them to stop what they're doing, they are the cause of our problems.

Police say man with weapons cache was preparing for 'Armageddon'

“We feel our community is safer having this kind of weaponry off the street,” intoned a spokesman for the Manchester-by-the-Sea, Massachusetts police department
Granted, the invocation of that cliche is part of the familiar gun-grabber liturgy, but it doesn’t apply here, since the “weaponry” referred to was never on the “street” to begin with. It consisted of several firearms legally purchased by 45-year-old Gregory D. Girard, a computer consultant whose wife — was her maiden name Morozov, perchance? — told the authorities about her husband’s supposedly alarming view that martial law is imminent.

Since it is unacceptable for people to believe that government agents will carry out paramilitary raids to confiscate firearms, a paramilitary force was sent to Girard’s home to confiscate his firearms.

Those weapons are now “safely” in the hands of the most dangerous criminal element in any society — the people who pull triggers and commit other acts of violence on behalf of the political class.

The statist stenographers in the local press breathlessly describe Girard’s collection of “approximately twenty” firearms — all legally purchased and duly registered — as “an alarming, nearly military-grade stockpile.” In addition to the firearms, Girard’s supposedly menacing arms cache included “several tear gas grenades and explosive pepper ball projectiles” as well as “four police batons” he had “illegally” acquired.

That’s right: Civilian disarmament is not limited to “gun control,” but includes “club control,” as well.

In the hands of the armed servants of the tax-feeding class, tear gas, pepper spray, and batons are considered “less-than-lethal” weaponry. But Girard, as a mere Mundane, isn’t permitted to own tear gas grenades and pepper ball rounds; accordingly, he was charged with four counts of possessing “an infernal device” and four counts of possessing a “dangerous weapon.”
Girard also reportedly converted his third story into an “illegal indoor firing range,” complete with what was described as an “illegal ballistic plate” (apparently possession of metal plates of a certain thickness is now impermissible without explicit government permission).
Abetted by the self-serving comments of the police who stole Girard’s property and the prosecutors who collaborated in that crime, media accounts are slathered with slimy insinuations that Girard is mentally unbalanced. (His wife, with whom he apparently has a troubled relationship, is a psychiatrist.)

Whatever we learn about Girard’s personal issues, this episode involves a dramatic and terrifying exercise of pre-emptive civilian disarmament.

More than a decade ago, the state government of nearby Connecticut enacted a “law” permitting state agents to confiscate firearms from people suspected of “dangerous” tendencies — a variation on the Soviet idea of pre-emptive punishment of “socially dangerous persons.”

Whatever happens to Gregory Girard, we’re likely to see much more of this kind of thing as the Homeland Security State expands and fortifies itself. God help us.

Internet Censorship Protest Shuts Down Australian Government Websites

Hackers protesting government censorship of the Internet have shut down several Australian government websites in a demonstration against the announcement that filters would be imposed to block access to websites deemed offensive by the authorities.

The campaign was launched in response to plans to implement a mandatory and wide-ranging internet filter modeled on that of the Communist Chinese government.

This is not the first time the group has attacked government websites, having launched a similar stunt last September.

“The main government website, www.australia.gov.au, and parliament’s www.aph.gov.au were both affected along with the sites for Prime Minister Kevin Rudd and Communications Minister Stephen Conroy,” reports AFP.

“No one messes with our access to perfectly legal (or illegal) content for any reason,” said a statement released by the group.

The Australian government attacked the campaign as “not a legitimate form of political statement.”

Despite the Australian government promising that the Internet filter would only be used to block access to child pornography and other illegal websites, the watchdog group Electronic Frontiers Australia warned that the law will also allow the government to block any website it desires under vague definitions.

In March 2009, the Wikileaks website published a leaked secret list of sites slated to be blocked by Australia’s state-sponsored parental filter.

The list revealed that blacklisted sites included “online poker sites, YouTube links, regular gay and straight porn sites, Wikipedia entries, euthanasia sites, websites of fringe religions such as satanic sites, fetish sites, Christian sites, the website of a tour operator and even a Queensland dentist.”

The filter will even block web-based games deemed unsuitable for anyone over the age of fifteen, according to the Australian government.

Calls to mandate Internet users to obtain licenses, in other words government permission, before they can post to the web have grown in recent weeks, with top Microsoft executive Craig Mundie insisting at the recent Davos Economic Forum that the Internet should be policed.

Within days, Time Magazine enthusiastically jumped on the bandwagon to back Mundie’s proposal, as authorities push for a system even more stifling than in Communist China, where only people who have been approved by the authorities would be allowed to express free speech.

ISPs across the world, including in supposed democratic countries like the UK, the US and New Zealand, have periodically blocked access to Alex Jones’ websites without justification and only restored access after a barrage of complaints.

As we have highlighted before, although the merits of hacking as a form of protest can be debated, what seems certain to happen is that governments will launch a false flag cyber attack which will cause a major catastrophe that can then be blamed on the free Internet, acting as a pretext to tighten the screws on plans for centralized regulation and censorship which are already in place.

The old saying that “power corrupts and absolutely power corrupts absolutely” is true. The important lesson to take from this is that we need to treat our neighbors as ourselves. Our neighbors really are ourselves just as this whole planet is one living thing. The more we pollute the air, water, and soil the more polluted we become. It’s good to give everyone a chance to see the view from the top. But anyone who hasn’t learned from the past cannot hold that position. You cannot maintain your position on top by kicking and shoving your way up a mound of people. The suppressed people will come to despise you as you had once despised your tyrants. Telling lies only works to hold onto the power in the short term. Once the lie is exposed the people will hate the liars even more~

Local merchants reject the house of cards built on the US dollar

Deep in the Missouri Ozarks, a new community currency has appeared to meet the needs of the people. Joshua Deatherage, a local contractor who wears a half-dozen hats to feed his family of four children in Cabool, Missouri, is responsible for creating the new silver based Community Dollar. And it's neither a Jed and Boys nor a Liberty Dollar venture.

As Deatherage explains, "I started thinking about a local silver currency the day after the Liberty Dollar was raided by the FBI." He was concerned that the first value based currency might not survive so his new Community Dollar is only intended to circulate in central Missouri.

First off I'd like to give a short review of a movie I watched tonight called "Panic in Year Zero!" It's an oldie from 1962 in black and white. I found the movie to be simple and entertaining. The classic TEOTWAWKI story. I thought that it was a pretty accurate depiction of what facing an event like that may be like. I thought it gave some pretty sensible advise on dealing with such an event as far as preparedness and mental fortitude. I think we could only hope to be as level headed as the character playing the father was. I guess while I'm at it I could recommend a couple of books I've read recently before going on to the news....

"World made by hand" by James Howard Kunstler This book came out after Kunstlers book "The Long Emergency" that was a non-fiction read basically spelling out all the reasons why we shouldn't expect humans to continue on business as usual for much longer. Interestingly enough that book came out in 2005 and predicted the coming market crash that we are now experiencing. I'd recommend it too. The "World mad by hand" is a novel of a small town in upstate New York post collapse and how they deal with it. The book is very well written. I think I may have finished the book in 2 days, I couldn't put it down.

"Patriots" James Wesley Rawles This is a novel about post collapse survival and preparedness. The book is extremely descriptive and has some very good information in it. It is sort of like a survival manual that reads like a story. Rawles is ex-military and runs Survival Blog. Off the subject....I think following your heart and doing gods will (or the will of the force if you want) are the same. I believe in a powerful compassionate energy that makes up the universe. I believe it has a plan and I also believe that we are a part of that plan. To the extent that we become a useful part of the plan depends on how open we are in letting this energy into our lives. The more open we make ourselves the more useful we become. When we are busy with our own plans there is no room in our lives to be a part of the bigger plan. I think we can choose, I think we are more satisfied though when we make the decision to be a part of the big plan. I feel it's in our hearts to do so.

Are you seeing the pattern? They put soft fuzzy names on these bills to make you feel like it's ok that it's for your own good, WRONG! And while your on the phone with your representatives tell them don't you dare reauthorize the patriot act.

Taking away our freedoms is not Patriotic. In fact, there is nothing more un-American.

The badly misnamed Patriot Act is not the Act of Patriots. It is the act of petty tyrants seeking more and more power and control over our country.

Now, ever so quietly they are trying to sneak reauthorization of the Patriot Act through without creating a stir among liberty-minded Americans.

We’ve all heard the defenses. How the Patriot Act was needed to combat “terrorism.” How it would not be used against U.S. citizens.

How it would not be abused.

These lies have all been clearly exposed. For eight years, the American people have ignored the wisdom of our founding fathers and traded freedom for security – and as predicted, we are losing both as a result.

And now, Congress and the White House are set to reauthorize the so-called Patriot Act.

They have until the end of this month to act. The Mainstream Media, fixated on Obama and tea party rallies, doesn’t say a word about it.

Patriot Act should be scrapped, to prevent federal snoops from casting fishing nets over the lives, histories and data of hard-working Americans.

The weak link for the snoop-state insiders remains the U.S. Senate -- where one Big Government boondoggle after another has been bottled up or defeated.

That’s why you need to demand your senators allow the Patriot Act to expire.

If we do not stop this reauthorization, we’ll see a whole lot more of what we’ve gotten over the last eight years:

*** Federal and State law enforcement searching telephone, email, medical, financial, and other records looking for a needle in a haystack – abridging the freedom of law abiding citizens everywhere.

*** Warrantless searches and roving wiretaps, paying telephone providers for access to TRILLIONS of phone records and ignoring Fourth Amendment protections.

*** Broad powers for the Treasury Department and Immigrations Department to rewrite regulations, access records, and conduct proceedings in secret.

*** Holding American citizens in violation of their constitutional rights simply because someone in the government has declared them an “enemy combatant.”

*** Vast amounts of electronic data on virtually every American swept up by insider arrangements and purchases from phone companies, airlines and other businesses afraid to say no to a government “request.”

This isn’t some conspiracy theory. This is happening all around us.

We can stop it.

One of the most egregious abuses of the Constitution, using the Patriot Act as its basis, is so-called National Security letters, used commonly by the FBI.

It has been estimated that the FBI has used these NSLs – which allow access to records WITHOUT any court or search warrant – at least 50,000 times since 2001.

Just one example, noted in BusinessWeek in 2005, showed that the FBI had issued tens of thousands of NSLs and had obtained one million financial, credit, employment, and health records from the customers of targeted Las Vegas businesses. Selected businesses included casinos, storage warehouses and car rental agencies.

And that’s just one case.

Our federal government is out of control, and every day we see it attempting to abridge more of our constitutional rights.

We know they’d take away our Second Amendment rights in a heartbeat if they could, and we must also remain vigilant to this threat.

They’re spending us and our children into poverty, with crushing trillion dollar deficits.

And they’re allowing the out of control Fed to ruin the dollar and push forward toward the collapse of our currency and way of life.

All of these are vital fights.

But none are more critical at the moment than taking back our freedoms from the statists and power-hungry federal thugs who use the Patriot Act to dig into every aspect of American lives under the false pretense of making us safer.

We cannot be a free nation and have this un-American law on the books.

Liberty-minded Americans from the left and the right are outraged. But outrage alone won’t be enough. Every single one of us must take action today.

Public pressure works. Think of the agenda items that are stalled in Congress due to pressure from outraged citizens.

The time is now to turn our attention to stopping the Patriot Act in its tracks.

Let them hear us loud and clear.

Ok so it looks like the last time I posted will be a year ago in a few more days...TOO LONG...I've gone to a much more annoying direct mailing approach to spread my propaganda, hehehe. I know some people are reading my emails because they send critical emails back. I appreciate that, it's nice to hear that somebody reads it even if they don't like it. I think though that instead of spamming everyone I know with what is going through my head at any given moment I'll just plaster it all over this page and give them the option to plug into my world if they choose. I may still send out an email alert from time to time if I think it's really necessary. I don't want to be thought of as the boy who cried wolf, but when they are filling firetrucks with the stuff and pointing the hose at the fan every day it's hard not to raise a fuss.

I hope this will be the first of many post this year. I hope to bring lots of alternative news to a growing audience over time and it would be great to make some new friends. Please subscribe, email and all that. I'm going to stick with it and hopeful post everyday. Thanks!

All this government spending is making me sick. The only one who benefits from all this debt is the federal reserve bank. I'm sure the current "crisis" was contrived to encourage panic and more government spending. These fools will believe anything, the fear in these dupes is so predictable! It doesn't even matter what the money gets spent on as long as the fools borrow it. Seeing these idiots smile and pat each other on the back for signing these bailout bills is unsettling to say the least. Where is this country going? Americans have turned into a bunch of wet noodles. We are stronger and smarter than this. Humans have lived thousands of years generation after generations and our species has survived real adversity to get here. We don't need fear and speed pushing this kind of shit on people. Stand tall, be strong, there is nothing to fear. The best decisions are made with a calm clear mind.

I do not see you as TOO negative... you and I are somewhat the same in that we like to state the hard facts even if the facts are not pretty, so others that do not like bad or ugly news tend to want to shoot the messenger so to speak. Nice knowing you Dan, I'll probably get shot for this factual example, so remember me ok. lol Most human reproduction happens when the parents are younger and not so educated as to the world population situation. You are an exception to that, you learned and or opened your eyes to the problem and did something about it. :-) But most people I know from 16 up to 30 don't give much if any thought to family planning, they just do it because it feels good and *POP**POP**POP* many kids result. I know of other young (single woman mostly) that intentionaly have more kids to get bigger welfare or child support checks. Now if that is not a sad situation, I'm not sure what is. I know of other young parents (teens and 20's) that seem to be having kids to keep up with the Joans's so to speak. The thinking going something like.. .o(OH look at out friends new baby, it's so cute, I want one too!) then *POP**POP**POP*. What they should be doing it getting a puppy! At least then they have something to practice parenting on, and if they can't learn how to be responsible with a puppy, at least they can give it away. And even if the dog survived it to full age, there is much less impact on the plannet than a human baby will be. And in some cultures the dog would not be wasted, it would become a meal. Not a graphic that many people would want to see. But this is just one example of the FACTS that are not pretty or acceptable by many people, even if it is a good idea in some way or another. Here is a idea, a robotic baby simulator that excretes foul smelling solids and liquids and crys loudly and at night or any time the robotic baby is not cared for properly. My son just informed me that they do have a baby simulator, minus the foul smelling parts. Well anyway, I need to get off the computer and go feed my animals and boiler and myself. The maps were a post that a friend put up. I only opened it cause you had mentioned Israel the other day in your writing. I don't pay to much attention to them myself, (no tv right now or time for it). To answer your question though, I'd say that Israel is trying to oust the other group and take all the land. Not unlike the Europeans who came and took this land from the Indians. I guess I can't blame them for trying to fight back, but they don't have a chance. Israel has all the big guns, we supplied them.

It's sorta like Santa Claus. I grew up indoctrinated into the christian religion, but as I've grown older I see how the camp fire stories that developed into belief systems have done more harm than good. Sure there are those that develop a sense of security through them and some sick puppies do good because they fear what will happen if they don't. (I call them sick because doing good should be its own reward, being motivated by fear is a sad old belief). Maybe there was a time long ago when people needed something to fear to be kept in line, or at least the ones in search of control found the pen stronger than the sword. At any rate in this day and age we can't afford to have our minds off in some supernatural afterlife as we walk through this world like zombies leaving a trail of destruction we hope to be forgiven for.

I haven't yet checked it out. This isn't a subject I've been real interested in, but if this is something that your interested in and would like to have conversations about I will take some time and read through it.

As with all media I think it's important to look at things from many angles and perspectives in order to get a clear view of the whole picture. Most main stream news puts a bend on the story to make "our team" always right. OH, I'm looking down at your next paragraph and I couldn't have said it better.

War has been good for the economy and the development of new synthetics and processes. We owe much of our chemicals and destructive compounds to the engineers of WWII. We were the only modern industrialized nation that survived the war without being bombed into the stone age. We owe much of our nations wealth to being the only one capable of resupplying the world with what it needed after the war. Not only that but the baby boom kept every sector invigorated with growth for years. Everyone needed everything and there was lots to do keeping everyone supplied, life was good. One of many unfortunate lessons supposedly learned during that time was war was good for the economy.

I did actually have to register with selective services when I turned 18. I agree with you that the draft was ended through war. Politically people like Mike Gravel and others fought their war to end the draft through the congress and senate. Thousands of young people and college students across the country and stood up to the old thinkers in government and violently protested the meaningless war in Vietnam and the draft. Your generation stood up to authority and changed things. The government now fears that kind up uprising from the young people. Ending the draft was a logical next step to keep the masses from caring too much about future conflict. It really is just a slight of hand though, they removed the draft but hired plenty of private contractors to conduct our recent oil war. I here they made good money too like $100,000 a year. With either a draft or heavy tax burden they've figured out how to keep the pressure on the young people, it's just not as in your face as it once was. I do like the "make love not war" motto. I don't like the saying "make babies not bombs" the destructive force is the same.

I agree, at the end of the day all these little make believe lines that we draw on paper and call countries doesn't really matter. With all our technology and know how, our supposed superiority over the planet many people are still suffering everyday, the planet keeps getting slapped and abused a little more everyday, and the future for generations to come looks a little worse everyday.

Well Tim, I feel like there is no reason that people should still be hungry in the world. People around the world should have adequit medical care. We should all be happy. We should be living in peace and unity together here on Earth, and we don't need some asshole or group of asshole to run it. There is no place left to move to to get away from the assholes, there is no more undiscovered land further west. There's no other planets to inhabit, we can't ship half the population to the moon. The more we expand the greater burden we put on the planet and it's resources. I hope we figure this out as a group before it's too late.

Breaking the ice

I've been so excited reading my friends blog that I've become inspired to create my own, well that and my attempts at taking hers over have failed...hehe j/k... Seriously though I guess some of my friends readers didn't like hearing what I had to say and thought I was polluting her site with my post.

Probably cause I say things like "at least I'm not polluting the world with humans". It seems the stay at home and watch reality on tv movement has truly separated our minds from the most real and present danger facing the planet. Us, you and me....we humans are really making a mess of the planet and we're doing it at break neck speed. It isn't like one evil group of us is doing all the dirty work either, although Americans are contributing a much higher dose of destructive force per person than any other group of humans on the planet. My friend tells me that when I express my views and the urgent need to change direction I get loud and negative about humans. She tells me that turns people off from my message. I will do my best to be cheerful, positive, and at the same time honest. I feel a compelling urge to talk about over population and how it will effect future generations of not only humans but all life here on Earth.

I do have hope for the world. The planet will right itself one way or the other. I really don't want to make people feel bad, most people have children and they have really nice children. I am doing what I think is right to make my future, the future of our species, and all the other critters on the planet better, the best way I know how. I try to talk to lots of young people my age and explain how my great grand parents (mom's grandparents) created over 500 people that currently walk the earth, and my circumstances are not exceptional, or unusual :-)

The population of the planet has doubled since 1980. We shouldn't need war, sickness, or food shortages to keep our numbers in check, we should be doing that consciously. Pretty much we need to adjust, either the out in the open painless way or we keep on with the silly blinders on till we really get ourselves in real trouble way. My post will be about lots of things, our staggering numbers will be one of them. Just so you know I've never added to the problem and I've was fixed when I was 23.
